Thought up new training method for myself and it works. Why?

I do 4 sets of 8 reps and I always try to take a 30-40 second break between each set.

Naturally, I can do 8 reps in set #1 and #2 and maybe only 3-4 sets on set #4.

I use this "method" for every exercise, squats and deadlifts included and I have gotten incredible results so far.

Is there a scientific reason why taking small breaks between sets would increase my gains? Or are my gains just that way because it's been 6 months since I started weightraining.

by reducing the rest you are increasing the workload. its like running a mile in 10 minutes, or running it in 5-- which is harder?

there are many ways to increase the workload. upping the weights, increasing the reps or sets, decreasing rest time, and increasing the "weights in hand" time are all ways to make the workout harder.

Doing that would definitely promote more fat loss than resting minutes between sets. I'm not sure if it has a direct effect on muscle growth though.
