PEC TEAR...... Just my luck

Anyone ever experience this? I did it while doing flat bench, nothing too heavy, a set of 8, 5th rep on the way up it tore. It didnt tear completely but enough to make it look out of place and be extremely painful. Its the part of the pec that connects up by your arm pit. I will have an MRI tomorrow to see that extent of the injury. Im debating on whether or not to run a maint dose of test while recovering and lifting legs. I dont know if coming off right now would be my best bet while trying to recover.
 
damn bro, i can only imagine how painful that must have been...i have never had a injury like that either..hope all goes well for you

very sorry to hear that and i feel your pain (albeit to a different part of the body) as i think i did a number on my shoulder and the shitty part is no insurance to go get an mri to see the extent of the damage....i would wait for the results of the mri till you decide about that maint. dose of test unless your someone who stays on all the time then i guess it woudlnt matter much...all in all bro i wish ya a speedy recovery.....

did the area turn "black and blue" immediately??

if you really tear a muscle badly, it bleeds and discolors the skin from behind.

It turned black and blue around my bicep near my shoulder the next morning. I thought that I was good to go because it wasnt bruising up, but then the next day it started changing colors.

was hoping that i could give you some hope that it wasn't a tear but rather a pull or strain.

good luck with your recovery. try not to get down while you're shut down for a little while.
 
yet another to bad hope it heals soon...I warm up a ton with just a bar if my muscles are really tight,which happens sometimes when cycleing..You can feel it and sometimes ill just pass on my workout for just this reason..seen a picture of the last guy... :worried: If you feel tighting or pulling stop! You will live to lift another day..I try to stay way from gear that notts my muscles up..like dbol for starters....Heal fast, lift smarter gl
