People really need to stop letting the media influence them so much. I find it pathetic and disgusting hwo pedophilia has become popular in today's culture. Yes, it's popular. It's shock value and a sensitive word, so people latch onto it like friggin' leaches -- Exclaiming "OMG, he sexed a 17 year old! He's a sick pedophile that deserves to be put to death!" whilst munching on their evening TV dinner.

One can argue infinitely 'round the circle whether or not sexing a 15 year old is right or wrong in today's different local societies, but it's not pedophilia any more than sexing a 70 year old woman is necrophilia.

My buddy is a sex offender and has to register everyplace because when he was 17 he had sex with a 16 year old.
He is Puerto Rican. The girl was white.
Her parents were not happy and pushed the whole thing!
He has trouble finding good jobs and he is more then qualified for them!

That is messed up! He should try to get that reversed...can he?

When I was in high school our gym coach (24 yr old male) was arrested during 2nd period and drag out of the school in cuffs because he was "involved" with a sophmore (15 yr old female).

He was never seen again - I don't know the out come.

The girl - well, let's just say she was misguided.

when dealing with a sexually mature teen, age of consent is an arbitrary number legislated based on whoever happens to yell the loudest in a given jurisdiction. 14 in some places, 16 here, 18 there, 13 in other places.

worst you can say is he/she violated the laws of man, but NOT the laws of nature.

you can pick up a 16 yo in a bar close to a state line, and depending on which side of the border you nail her on, you can be indicted for statutory rape and be a sex offender for life, or just be the man.

I have a shocker story for you and I just saw this girl the other day in the park.

A 10 year old girl was molested by her uncle, three years ago in my town and she was kept in school as long as possible until her belly was too large to hide. A teacher (a friend of mine) tutored her at home for the rest of the school year.

She was playing in the park the other day with her son and a woman payed the little boy a compliment to the young girl and she asked "Is he your little brother" - "No" she said, "He is my son."

I can't describe to you the expression on the woman's face and this 13 year old girl took it all in stride.

No charges were pressed and the uncle - is still connected to the family.
