A woman pleaded not guilty to charges she sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl she used to coach in soccer. In a videotaped police interview, the girl said she and Jillian Maureen Anderson, 23, hung around together and exchanged emails. During one soccer trip, the girl said Anderson tickled her on a hotel bed. On their return home, they began exchanging emails, which her parents eventually found. There was no contact between the two for six months until September last year when they resumed seeing each other.
Anderson broke up with her boyfriend and later suggested they "try dating." The relationship evolved from kissing and hugging to sex. The girl claimed she never said no.

Here are a couple points that need to be considered.
First a true pedophile persues and desires sex with children that have not gone through puberty or who are just starting puberty. Once a victim or potential victim reaches the advanced stages of puberty, a true pedophile looses interest. Pedophiles and other sex offenders tend to be very specific in what types of kids/victims (age, appearance, ect) they groom and molest.
Second, this female coach had a position of trust and authority in the community and over this young girl, and this automatically increases the severity of the alleged offense.
Third, depending upon the state laws or in this case Canadain law, if this girl is below the age of consent, this coach should be charged with statuatory rape. Some of you may disagree, but in my profession I have practically had to go toe to toe with females who would not support bringing forth charges on an adult female who was having sex with a teen boy becuase they believe it is different for boys.
Their rationale is this: the boy had to get an errection inorder for the couple to have sex; thus this boy was a willing participant. Thus no crime occured, and the female offender is just misguided in looking for love. To which i call utter and complete BS!!
Pedophila and sex offenders by definition have deviant patterns of sexual arrousal and they do not comply with societal norms and laws, and that is the crux of this case.
I have seen up close and personal what happens to young boys who were sexually involved with teachers and adults in authority over them. Their lives are never the same after the experince, and you start to see mental health problems, suicide and drug use as they go through life. An aquaintance of mine was seduced(probably did not require much effort though) into an affair with one of the high school staff while I was going through high school, and it has taken a toll upon him.
This coach is a sex offender(providing that she did what she is accused of) and not a pedophile. If the girl that the coach had sex with was 9 y rs old, it would be accurate to categorise her as a pedophile.
I personally think this woman should be treated exactly like a male who had sex with an under age girl, and that her crime was enhanced by the fact that she is a teacher. If she did what she is accused of, this Coach is a sex offender and she should have to register as such.
We can not take lightly anything that presents a threat to our children attending school in a safe healthy environmebt that is free from sexual exploitation like this whether the perpetrator be a man or a woman.
I would suspect that there is a female version of NAMBLA, and in their eyes this Coach was just seeking out a loving relationship and that having sex with minors is ok if you like that sort of thing.
