fruits and meats is a good strategy to diet in my opinion

im thinking about dieting again..well ive been somewhat dieting this week, i have put on some size but not really much strength latley. but im trying a different approach for me. basically all protien from foods, at one gram per pound of leanbodymass. low fat. and about 6-8 peices of fruit a day spaced out. when ever im hungry ill have somethin like an apple pear or an orange. and it really works im never hungry and carbs are still low. and the fruictose is supposbly better at maintaining lean bodymass while dieting its working for me, ive bulked up in my new pic on my avatar but i have defintly added some belly thats why im hiding it. like to hear some feed back on this diet what do you guys think?

question to everyone. i was meaning to post it up as a separate thread but this is virtually asking it here

how suitable is fruit on a cutting diet and what fruits are most low cal/hi fibre

fruits got fructose in it......which doesnt cause an insulin spike as is absorbed into cells without it.

but.....replaces liver glycogen preferentially and then goes to fat stores if memory serves me right. not to mention an unriped fruit wont all be fructose

sooo......which fruits if any would be appropriate. i;ve held of eating fruit because im on a cutting diet but its good for u so i;d like to eat some

i think fruits are very good at appetite control. ive been in the diet and natural training thing for 8 years. and my main problem with a diet is hunger. ive gotten real low bodyfat but only on a few occasions. so what i did differently this time was just use fruits as a complex carb instead of starchy stuff as a complex carb. so basically when i start to get hungrey throughout the day i eat a peice of fruit, i choose just to eat the round fruits because they seem to have more fiber and digest slower. so anyways when im hungry i have a fruit then next meal when im hungrey i eat protien or meats. and then so on and so on. i like to alternate like that because i look foward to eating my fruits i really dont crave the protien.

how come you are calling fruits "COMPLEX CARB"?? Shouldn't it be considered as simple carb anyway?

Fruit is a combination of fructose and glucose. Depending on the type of fruit, the ratios vary. Depending on the goal, fruit can be a good part of ones diet. When cutting, some fruit is fine and will not interfere much with fat loss, but it can slow it down. Too much isn't ideal b/c fructose preferentially refills liver glycogen. Liver glycogen levels are one of the key determinants of the bodys ability to oxidize FFAs. When liver glycogen is filled, fat loss will be somewhat slowed. Ingesting over 50g in a 24 hour period (note:a LOT of fructose), will cause excess to be converted into triglycerides and stored as fat. So a small amt. is OK, too much eaten will be at the expense of faster fat loss.

looks pretty godd bro.I just don't suggest keeping your carbs all that low I find to get a rebound affect if I cut out carbs, but you may be different. Also add some strawberries to that diet, if you didn't knowstrawberries have more vitamin C than an orange

also on weekends i tend to eat more fat but not more carbs keep fruit about the same. just eat more stuff like peanutbutter and cheese or more meat. but this diet doesnt compare to the quick fix diet i posted a while back.....that diet where u basically flood your body with water and leafy greens like cabbage and eat 1 gram per pound of LBM and have low fat under 50 and low carbs under30. now ive gotten ripped beyond belief off of that, and when i came off that diet i got a hell of alot stronger

If you want to cut, veggies are better than fruits:

as much or more fiber
as much or more vitamins
less fructose
lower GI
