Would you classify this 23 yr old as a pedophile?

The characteristic that seperates pedophiles from adults who are simply illegally involved with under 18 kids are that the pedophiles are interested in children who have not sexually developed yet. No, because a 15 year old female is a fully reproductive organism, not a child.

People really need to stop letting the media influence them so much. I find it pathetic and disgusting hwo pedophilia has become popular in today's culture. Yes, it's popular. It's shock value and a sensitive word, so people latch onto it like friggin' leaches -- Exclaiming "OMG, he sexed a 17 year old! He's a sick pedophile that deserves to be put to death!" whilst munching on their evening TV dinner.

One can argue infinitely 'round the circle whether or not sexing a 15 year old is right or wrong in today's different local societies, but it's not pedophilia any more than sexing a 70 year old woman is necrophilia.

This is an interesting thread. So I have never talked to a chick under 18 since I was like 17 lol...but recently I met a chick in a club... and I've been talking to her for a bit. She's really cool and she's really digging me...Today she tells me she's still in high school!!! She's JUST turned 16 lol, but I met her in a 21+ night club...I mean I'm only 21 but still...lol I kinda like her but don't wanna go to jail over the nanny...So now I'm in a dilemma haha. Yes, I would add that it also greatly diminishes the term pedophile.

If a 23 year old having a consensual sexual relationship with a 15 year old is a pedophile then a 40 year old raping a 10 year old can't be so bad, after all he's just a pedophile.

The term pedophile should be reserved for kiddy rapers who are the scum of the earth, not some misguided folks who just couldn't keep it in their pants.

I see these cases as VERY black and white.

The adult 23 yr/old who is a TRUSTED TEACHER should be jailed for being a predator. She took advantage of a CHILD who was just beginning to explore her sexuality. Gay/Straight Male/Female - makes no difference to me.

An adult should NEVER cross this line with a child. PERIOD
