Women should be punished the same as men.

why the different standard for women? you know in many countries its the opposite - the age of consent is higher for gay/lesbian sex than for hetero sex


btw - 15 is legal in most countries of the world (including canada i believe yes?)

Not sure what the age is in Canada, but I was havign sex at 15. My boyfriend was 19 and we were together for 7 yrs.

The laws are about the 'age of consent' when someone is capable of consenting to such acts as an adult. It's tricky though. Cause let's say it's 18, but a 19 y/o guy has sex with a 17 y/o girl.... should he be a sex offender for life while a 19 y/o girl that had sex with a 17 y/o girl gets off with nothing?

I don't know... I think it's like 'what is obscene' in a way - I can't define it, but i know it when I see it.

My buddy is a sex offender and has to register everyplace because when he was 17 he had sex with a 16 year old.
He is Puerto Rican. The girl was white.

No, because a 15 year old female is a fully reproductive organism, not a child.

People really need to stop letting the media influence them so much. I find it pathetic and disgusting hwo pedophilia has become popular in today's culture. Yes, it's popular. It's shock value and a sensitive word, so people latch onto it like friggin' leaches -- Exclaiming "OMG, he sexed a 17 year old! He's a sick pedophile that deserves to be put to death!" whilst munching on their evening TV dinner.

One can argue infinitely 'round the circle whether or not sexing a 15 year old is right or wrong in today's different local societies, but it's not pedophilia any more than sexing a 70 year old woman is necrophilia.
