why train hard for strenght, girls don't care how much you press....

There was a good looking girl at my gym that used to come watch the powerlifters train and I can tell you she was turned on by all the heavy iron being hoisted haha.

I want to be a fucking monster so I EAT, and EAT, and LIFt and LIFT. I wouldn't mind having a 6 pack, but I just can't get away from constantly wanting to build my strength and test myself and see just how big and strong I can get. Plus, I actually like food.

It takes concentration and balls to lift really heavy weights as a powerlifter all the time just as it takes great discipline and dedication to really watch your diet and really learn to focus in on your muscles like a bodybuilder.

there are people of all walks of life that look like large sacks of shit. and their are weak, ugly, bodybuilders too.
I'd rather have my guy be big and thick and strong than have his abs show and watch every bite he eats- if i wanted that, i'd date a woman.
I know of plenty of powerlifters who look great though- plenty are former bodybuilders.

I have nothing but respect for what you guys do, we are practically in the same sport, but with a few major differences... the fact you need to call bbers wimps and insecure, just raises your own insecurities, perhaps you're too fat and lazy to go on a cut... Powerlifters need huge mental strength to do what they do, based on your post I wouldn't say your a good representative for your sport.

Dont turn this thread into powerlifters vs bodybuilders...


1) Bla bla bla, if you train solely for looks you are an insecure wimp. Full stop. Note how I say "solely".

2) I have a problem with the frat boy in the squat rack doing his latest metrosexual routine. I have a problem because they interrupt my training. If they dont interrupt me, I dont have a problem.

3) My post is in reference as to how wrong you and other guys thinking along your lines are wrong. Your training ideas of muscle pumping et al is for weenies. I dont have an actual problem, I am trying to educate you. However, training to impress other people is what you like, well go ahead, time will prove you wrong.

4) You are missing totally the point of my post, in fact, you are talking rubbish. You can train like a bodybuilder and for strength, you can train for powerlifter and look good, In fact, look at powerlifters in the weight ranges and you will be impressed, so much you will want to be a powerlifter.

5) Shut the fuck up with your fat boy powerlifter stupid stereotype, its just idiotic to repeat myths and try to look menacing at the same time. You can take me? hahahahhahaha

6) Do you know how ronnie trained in his begginings? or dorian, or arnold?

7) Ok, I am going to repeat this one more time. It really is starting to piss me off. I am not building an argument on the bodybuilding vs powerlifter, read my last lines. Am I advocating powerlifters??? Seriously. I ironically mentioned the Jay Cutler line, because many wannabe's are like that. I have utter respect for any hard training athlete, be it bber, pler, weight trainer or marathon runner. I dont have respect for the weenies doing their 6th set of high rep cable flies which was preceded by the pech deck machine.

royster. I'm a powerlifter.
i've competed and won and probably trained for looks when i first joined a gym, for about 6 months, cause i didn't know there was an alternative.
that being said, you look like an untelligent jerk when you post like this. show some respect, or don't expect to get any yourself.
everyone trains differently, and for different reasons. the only one looking like an insecure wimp at the moment, is you.
 
Just find the one 'girl' who digs whatever you have to offer and then you'll never have to worry about it again.

By the way, the women I know do sometimes ask me what I can press.
 
I didn't say I trained solely for looks... I said 'people who train on looking like Brad Pitt do so because they want pussy' - the fact is people do train solely for looks, and good for them, at least they aren't sitting at home eating pork pies.

If you read my last line of my first post 'I train my arse off for me' - that means im not concerned what other people think of my training, or my reasons for doing it, for which there are many reasons which are important to me.

Why are you saying that you don't have a problem with bber's and then go on to say that you're trying to educate me, like training like a bber is wrong? - From what you have said it seems to me like the only reason you powerlift is because you are afraid someone is going to beat you up... I mean, go and learn Muay Thai if your worried about that.

In future I suggest that you take the time to read peoples posts before you jump on the stereotype wagon, and take sometime to study your own posts/beliefs before you try to be all politically correct and stuff...

bottom line- dont train for a womans approval. And 90% of women dont the diff. bet. a bench press & deadlift anyway- your only talking about a very small % that actually work out w/free weights :)
 
Who gives a shit what women think. Doing this(powerlifting/bodybuilding) for them is the quickest way to destroy all the hard work(assuming you do hard work) you put yourself through. Whats gonna happen when you get the girl??? Give up training??? PROBABLY, which leads me to think your wasting your time now, with training and my f*ckin TIME!!!!!!!
