I was the youngest guy in my CCU Unit this weekend...

Guys, you must know that excessive levels of testosterone/AAS wreak havoc with the lipid profile. I would bet his LDL:HDL ratio was abnormally high. Zoom, with all due respect to you and to a speedy recovery, see if you can get a look at your lipid profile. I am sure that they ran blood tests. I want o know your LDL level and your HDL level. The LDL:HDL level should never go over 3. Check it out.

Doc, they ran them, but did not believe them.

I don't have these numbers exact, but my overall cholesterol number was close to 300 and my good cholesteral was a very low 13? They questioned that being accurate and of course they will re-test me in two weeks.

SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT. LET'S DO SOME MATH. IF YOUR TOTAL CHOLESTEROL WAS 300 AND YOUR HDL (GOOD CHOLESTEROL) WAS 13, THEN YOUR LDL WAS ABOUT 287. THEN YOUR LDL:HDL RATIO WAS ABOUT 22--WAY OVER THE NORM OF 3. GUYS, THIS IS WHY I KEEP HARPING ABOUT BLOOD TESTING AND THE LIPID PROFILE. THIS INCIDENT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE OVERDOING AAS. YOU DO NOT "FEEL" A POOR LIPID PROFILE UNTIL IT PUTS YOU IN THE CCU. YOU THINK I AM AN ALARMIST, TAKE A LOOK AROUND. TRY TO OPTIMIZE YOUR MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE AAS INTAKE BY LOOKING AT YOUR LIPID PROFILE. THIS IS THE KEY TO SAFE AND PRODUCTIVE USE. ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST ABUSE. I AM CERTAIN THE RISK:REWARD RATIO IS VERY HIGH FOR MOST OF THE GROUP.

But But But If you are usually about normal as to ratio and HDL, a few months with crappy hdl even with a shitty diet isn't going to immediately line arteries with plaque. I even remember reading somewhere that while AAS fuck the lipid numbers, they also induce anti-plaque changes (anti-sclerotic or something) so that while you're on, you're not furring up your arteries .

You guys make me laugh, that doubt everything posted on this board.

I went to the hospital Sunday night because of pain between my
clavacles in my upper back, I started having some trouble breathing and and began to feel weak. I knew that I was having problems when I broke into this visciuos sweat and soaked my shirt in about 5 minutes.

I went to the hospital they put me on a ekg and then began giving Nitro..said that I had a blocked artery.

They gave me some drugs to naturally open the artery which worked initially and got me stabalized. Sunday morning they did the catheter and the angio-plasty..putting in the stint to open up the artery.

The reason for the blocked artery was plaque break of which the body responded by forming a blood clot. Therefore shutting off the blood and oxygen flow to the right side of my heart.

The right side and back of the heart were damaged. My prognosis is good for recovery.. I was released 48 hours after the stint was inserted..my blood pressure/ oxygen levels and heart rates were all fine. So they let me out. Once that atery was open i felt normal.

Now I have to let the damage heal.

So to Luscious who thinks my original post was full of shit, I am just damned glad that I wasn't at your hospital.

What a lucky bastard. The enzyme test levels only take a few minutes. These enzymes are specific to the heart and mean that cardiac tissue is dying. Youre heart has a posterior descending artery blockage, if you are correct with you description of our heart damage. Basically the right coronary artery, of which there are three, had become occluded. This feeds the inferior of the heart, the inferior aspect> it makes an L shaped turn as is quite recognizable. Ask your cardiologist if Im right. These procedures are basic plumbing and consider yourself lucky that you are OK. Too numerous of patinets who werent as lucky as you considering that one/half of peole with an acute mi dont survive. Congrats, and plaque rupture is a defintie bitch, ask Jim Fixx, 25% plaque, that most people have. b/c it can happen to anyone. The plaque ruptures and your body doesnt know its a break in the skin or the artery, so it sends clotting factors nonetheless. And no worries about the hospitals I rotate in, they are the best. Higher survival rate than anywhere else. Even the 4077th. Also, all attacks aside, you are very lucky and if you are going to have a heart attack, it is best to have on the inferior aspect of the heart, less lethal arrhythmias. No joke, I hope youre outcome is excelllent, Email me with any questions. I apologize for any previous posts.SORRY BRO! Live long and Prosper!

The idea of plaque rupture is a troubling thought and is not very common. I have seen this happen and can only apologize for my previous attitude. This is what is behind the new C-reactive protein tests done by the blood. This states that if the crap test is elevated, then you are at risk for the plaque rupture. The problem is that a hemmorhoid will cause an elevated CRAP test. Look up Jim fixx a prolific runner, to understand this problem. A 25% plaque that ruptures/ BTW, we all have plaque in our bodies based on vietnam autopsies

My point is--who knows how long his lipid profile has been abnormal. You are making a lousy assumption.

All the Best Bro,

Just curious if the doc said it is ok to start doing slow pace cardio, like walking on a treadmill or something?

Yea, they have me walking for five minutes three times per day the first week then increasing the time to 10 minutes the second week. July 8th I go in for my first follow-up and to begin cardio re-hab. If the tests look good on that day I will be able to return to work. Once the doctors are confident that my heart is performing ok under the stress of pysical excercise I will return to the weights. Only this time it will be natural, which is how I have trained my whole life prior to this year. I will be going back to the
leaner cut look, although people have always believed I was using steriods.

As has been stated in previous posts on this thread, we all have some plaque build up, why it ruptures is unknown, there are some ideas such as inflamation in the body but very little is really
understood about it. The artery that ruptured was between 30 and 40 % blocked all other ateries are 20% or less. The only thing that I can say about it is that I have always been the picture of health, no smoking, low bodyfat, good blood pressure,
good overall cardio vascular health, even did the whole stress test about a year ago and was deemed in great health.

I was doing a cycle of Test and Winny..when this happened. Blood Pressure and heart rate were elevated as a result of the
AS. My lipid profile had only been bad for approxamately three months.

15% of the heart muscle was damaged and I am expected to recover some if not most of it through rest and re-hab.

The bottom line is that I need to stay focused on long term good health and AS just can't be part of my life.

Please get yourselves checked on regulary if you are doing cycles.
