The most misused piece of equipment in your gym..

The leg press. This guy puts like 20 pounds on there and then does a bunch of fast-reps while grunting like a tough guy.

A 150lb guy did 3 reps with 404lb (if I added it up correctly)??

Yes I have to agree with all of these posts. They are oh so true. My gym is located next to a hospital which comes in useful because I shit you not in the short six months I have been a member the paramedics have been called out about 10 times because of injurys. Idiots benching to much is the main cause. Like this one guy, I was waiting to use the sqaut rack one day when this guy that looked like he couldn't weigh more than 150 soaking wet loaded some ridiculous 4 45 pound plates on each end of the bar. He got up to about 3 reps when apparently fatigue set in and on his way on the 4th rep he fell forward and the bar came crashing down on him and landed on the back of his neck. Poor bastard couldn't move. Had to be wheeled out on a stretcher. But I was one of these gung ho motherfuckers when I first started lifting. Thinking I could handle more weight than I should have. Ended up injuring my shoulder which put me out for 2 years. Next time I was in a gym after that I said fuck ego lifting. Rather look like a pansi lifting a light weight using strict form than a moron slinging more than he can handle and risking injury.

I would have to say the dumbells, seen people swaying like they were in a huricane trying to curl way too much weight because they want to lift more than the guy beside them. Calf machines come in a close second.
