you guys are mis informed. you basically regurgitate whatever you hear on this sight and think its right. like the average person here recommends 1.5 grams of protien and recommend atleast 60-100 fats every day of natural peanutbutter lol

and dont even get me started talking about a ckd


optimum sports nutrition book pretty much lays the real info out for you theyve done the tests and studies showing different intakes of protien

your body only needs two kinds of fats linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid

from the studies the athletes showed no better preformance with more fat over 15 percent of their daily calories.

all u need is essential fats

im thinking on leg day(which is the hardest day because i do alot of leg work and alot of running) i will add a big serving of salmon or a fish like that and with some extra virgin olive oil for the salad so about every 4 days ill be getting in a good load of HEALTHY fat! i figure on each of the fat load days i will be getting maybe 30-50 essential fats yyaaaaaaaaaaayy :)

they did a research on Tarahumara Indians who are one of the most athletic indian tribes they preform amazing running feats over 100 miles per day and only get 9-12 percent of fats from the total calorie intake

in japan they have about the lowest rates of degenerative diseases and they only get under 15 percent total cals from fats

you are just naming one degenerative deseases out of the shit load that are out there:rolleyes:

bottom line is its healthier to eat low fat. and all u need is your essential fats to preform best. no need for fat being any more than 15 percent if your an athlete

I tied a childhood friend to a chair when we were about 19 - she was a bulimic. At her high points she wanted help but didn't want to feel fat so she hid from her friends. I used to watch her clean out an entire fridge and then take a pint of frozen yogurt to coat her throat before she threw it all back up.

Her boyfriend and I essentially kept her prisoner in her mothers apartment for nearly two weeks and put 12 pounds on her.

She was 5'-10 and 97 lb. when we started.

A model for Elite in NYC - she had a very warped sense of body image and had no idea of how very beautiful she was.

She too had, a "diet of the week" and believed she wasn't thin enough, her hip bones never showed through enough, her face never drawn enough.

Her favorite diet was the jalopeno, mustard and 7 grain bread diet. She would eat 2 slices of bread, mustard and one jalopeno pepper per day. One sandwich, neatly quartered eaten throughout the day.

When the results stopped she found that eating what ever she wanted then purging herself to be more effective.


Her last modeling gig was in Belgium, when she returned we buried her.



So when I say things - I'm not rehashing someone else's diet practice and I'm not criticizing your diet practice. It's the familiar desperation that worries me and the long term effects that you won't be privvy to for another ten years or so.
 
come on people.... this ENTIRE life style is summed up by this phrase, "to each their own".... what works for nclifter wont work for bfold, vice versa.... what dial tone does might not work for me.... You MUST find through trial and error what works for you and what doesnt. EVER body is different, it reacts to different things, external stress, happiness level EVERYTHING takes its toll. What i like about Nclifter is his never ending battle to try and find out what works for him, perhaps he does not stay on something for that long, but i congrat him on trial and error. All the diets ppl should try for a month and find out what makes them feel good, results etc. See food diet, CKD, cycling cals, all that stuff. maybe 50% protein i need, maybe nclifete needs 20% or whatever, who knows, who cares, this game is LIFE style, do what you can do get what you want... take the advice, try it out, and go from there... if it dont work, doesnt fit your taste buds, schdule etc, then do something else.

You may be correct but but what would you say to anyone else that said they were going to eat nothing else per day except a gallon of silk milk and all the cabbage they could stand.

Its not healthy......that is all that is to it. I am going to make a generalized statement here, I know that is a sin in bodybuiling, but a 15-21 year old guy that is over 200lbs needs more than 1300 cals a day. It is just a fact, if you cant lose weight at 2000 cals, you have a thyroid problem, and need to see a doc, or you severly fucked up your metabolism and need to get it stoked again. NC. while I am sure that your low fat ways work for you, dont try and tell us that it is the best way, or say that we are going to suffer some type of Degenerative diseases. I do very, very well no carbing it, with high fats, and moderate protein.....to each his own on the macro breakdowns for weight loss, but taking in those few cals, you are messing with body in more ways than you think....how often do you pop a boner on such a diet?

I think short term, it great, and also healthy i look at it as A FORM OF FASTING

its basically a liquid diet


some times you gotta go with your gut, and not by the numbers.

will, and intuition have taken some of the most succesfull athletes to another level.

contrary to popular belief diets (short term) that seem very austere, actually illicit a number of benifits from your body that cause it to actually run better ..........brain function, digestive systems etc and hormones related to youth increase.......


there have been study on rats to affirm this.

if you feed them all the time, with fertalizer, and water.
what happens? they die.

and when you water them, sparcley, and actually wait for them to droop a little what happens?

BAM! they flourish

humans are no different
 
Humans are like plants? dunno about that.....I will admit, that there have been studies dont that show positive effects from a calorie restricted diet, but I done know think it was this extreme. All I know is if I were to eat 1200 cals run, lift (or at least try), I wouldnt be to pleased with the results, as I would probably shrivel up into a skinny/fat guy......
