Oh man............I'm gonna give it another try. Been smoking 5 years now and i think its TOTALLY disgusting. My hands, clothes and breath stink of smoke and my teeth are turning a "slight " yellow. The insane thing is, its the FIRST THING i do when i wake up in the morning. Before morning cardio, i smoke a few cigs and driving to the gym, i smoke a few as well. I smother myself with Obsession cologne and chew 3 sticks of gum before i even think about setting foot in the gym. My wife and i are smoking appox. 1 1/2 packs a day. Stupidity is what got me started smoking. I trained with a local IFBB pro who smoked like a FIEND and he told me it helped him diet easier(!!!!). I tried "wellbutrin" and it made me naucious as hell. Any suggestions and helpful info is GREATLY appreciated since i wanna stop A.S.A.P. Thanks all!

what smokers are really saying when they have a smoke in their mouth: "Oooh look at me!! I've got a controlled fire hanging from my mouth!" :D

just think about how much more improved your body will be from quitting, improved blood flow, oxygen etc.

plus the increase in appetite:D means easier to take in all the calories.

been smoke (tobacco) free I think for a month now (cold turkey). I've had 3 in that time.

and loving the all the positve changes...

I quit about two years ago... went out and bought 2 cans of cherry skoal. (nastiest crap in the world!) After those, I just quit. It worked, I tried smoking about 6 months ago, and it tasted like crap, couldn't even do it. Cardio kicks ass now, it is definitely worth it!!

Well one of my best friend's mom does hypnotherapy and has had positive results with people wanting to quit. I talked to someone that had it done and she remembers the whole thing but hasn't had a cig or a craving since. Another solution would be a script for zyban. I heard that it has a pretty high success rate. I'm gonna get hypnotized here soon b/c I am tired of it also

I quit cold turkey three years ago. Haven't had one since. Just made up my mind. I was smoking heavy too and had been smoking for 10 years. It was just time for me to quit and I haven't missed it since. I didn't have any real physical problems with withdrawal other than being an absolute son of a bitch for about three weeks. I didn't have cravings for cigarettes though -- I was just short tempered and irritable. So I just ignored it all and went on. However, later on my friends told me they were ready to cram a cigarette down my throat.

Good luck. Everyone's different so, no matter what everyone says, you'll have your own experience with quitting. If you are ready to quit -- you'll quit. It's pretty much that simple.

I quit smoking 3 years ago. I smoked for 7 years. Quiting smoking was the best thing I ever done. I also put on 5 pounds of muscle in a month. It is very hard to quit ,but you have to really want to quit. Maybe these tips can help you.

1. Start jogging outdoors 2 miles per day.

2. Chew gum whenever you are craving a smoke.

3. Do not hang out with people that smoke for at least a month.

4. Keep telling yourself if you don't quit now you will never quit.

Good luck,
Remember it will never get any easier to quit.

I smoked for 14 years straight, 1 - 2 packs a day. Its been 2 years on Dec 23 that i havent had a smoke. It was almost like doing a cycle by itself. I new is was going to blow up like a fat basterd so i started eating very good and working out religiously and everyone at work thought i was on something. I went from 160 to 195 lbs in a years time. Not too much was bf, but there was some around the mid section. My workouts were much more intense and lasted much longer without the smokes, but it takes awhile to notice anything. I just used the patch. For a couple weeks in the beginning i still smoked 2 - 5 cigs a day because the patch wasnt strong enough. I ate alot of long lasting candy to break the habbit part of it. Just got to keep your mind off of it. But i must say the cravings really never go away completly, every now and then i still want one.....esp when drinking!!!!
