Ok fellas i am 6'2 195Ibs my entire body is all well except for the Calfs, i am trying not to be too hard on myself as to this maybe a genetic issue but what can i do to increase SOME Size. I mean there just skinny lol...i would like to increase 1/4 in or something like that, I mean should i perform really heavy reps? or more sets? Or im not sure about this but i over heard that while doing cardio say the elliptical to concentrate training on the tips of your feet and that may help? Any input/advice/opinions would be greaty appreciated, as i am tired of seeing the skinny calfs lolol. :p

cardio won't help especially if your calves are genetically poor. do very heavy calf raises and over a period of time they should improve.

Not true. On a nice summer day go and sit by a bike trail and watch all the joggers go by. Its not uncommon to see people with 16-17" calves go by every few minutes.

Of course weight training is the best way to bring them up to par. Focus on squats and controlled calve raises.

Cardio can help if you run properly. Balls of feet, no heel-toe-ing. Sprint intervals will beef up them calves nicely.

Do calf raises with reps between 5-8 and seated calf raises between 10-15. Gastroc and soleus have a different fiber composition and are affected better through seperate rep ranges. Aside from that, pause at the top and bottom of the movement - for 2-3 seconds at the bottom, to eliminate the stretch reflex. The achilles tendon is great at rebounding energy and making calf exercises easier. That's why we can walk for so long - good at storing energy, less muscular fatigue. Most people can bounce the entire stack, but have shitty calves. Why? That's why. You need to pause to get rid of the stretch reflex.
