Let me clear things up for you ER. First trimester losses are almost always do to defects in chromosomes. Something went wrong somewhere along the line when the cells were rapidly dividing to form tissues and somewhere along the line very early on the cells likely wound up with an extra or missing chromosome that was incompatible with life.
