Kimbo will be tough to build a federation around. He was getting beat by James Thompson, a C grade fighter at best. It will be difficult to protect Kimbo against an onslaught of B grade fighters that make up Elite XC's roster. They have some excellent fighters in EliteXC: Nick Diaz, Jake Shields, Eddie Alvarez, and Murillo Rua come to mind. Nick Diaz and Murillo Rua are action fighters incapable of making boring matches. My personal thought is that they should focus on athletes like that if they want to try to mainstream MMA further, yet maintain a hardcore fan base.

but who do they have in the heavyweight division other than that other black dude who looks to have exactly the same skill set as kimbo??

I wasn't very impressed with the Robbie Lawler fight either. That dude has slid further down hill since he got his ass whupped big time in the UFC. Though the stoppage was a bullshit call.
