Kimbo fight.. bullshit

UFC>ALL /.. kimbo barely beat a guy , who got knocked out by butterbean in less the 30 secs .. u really think kimbo is good? yikes

Kimbo not signing with UFC killed his career. I watch UFC only, and 20 different cheap leagues trying to pimp out their 'star' fighter ain't gonna work. Eventually only one will be left.

I don't think UFC took Kimbo on the offer. At least not on his terms. He knew coming in that he would be vastly overshadowed skill wise by the other fighters and therefore he went into a smaller league with less skilled opponents for the experience factor while he improves.

But what about Matt Serras little brother quitting like a punk ass bitch and just laying back down.

Na, brah, they just want a black tank abbot.

I understand what EliteXC wants to do with Kimbo, but times have changed and you cannot create another Tank Abbott. The present skill level of even the B grade fighters is so incredible that a wild swinging, hard hitting guy wont be able to take many fighters out. The tough guy, street brawler image only last so long when said tough guy, street brawler can't even beat a hand picked punching bag with mediocre skills. In his heyday Tank could pose a threat to most top fighters due to their lower skill level and the dynamite in his fists. A Tank today can't make it out of the first minute with a fringe contender.

Isn't Elite going broke?

Unless I pay the other guy to fall within 45 seconds. Oh, don't act like fixing and sports have never existed in history! (Especially when there's no regulatory body around, which is a prerequisite for big bucks gambling).

but who do they have in the heavyweight division other than that other black dude who looks to have exactly the same skill set as kimbo??

Who has Vitor Belfort, Alistair Overeem, and Paul Buentello? Is Andre Arlovsky a free agent? Buentello v. Kimbo would be a good match for the fans who like rugged bangers and great for me when I need a bathroom break. I bet Arlovsky v. Overeem would be an excellent fight if they could put it together. Big name camps must have guys looking to get experience that could be worth a gamble. They have Antonio Silva and Ricco Rodrigues on the heavyweight roster already. Antonio Silva is very solid. If Ricco can be inspired to get into shape, he is superstar potential.

You can't build a fight card out of 45 second dives. People wont be dishing hundreds for seats or 50 bucks for PPV events that consistently last 15 minutes. What is more likely to happen is one fighter is going to get carried by the other fighter for a longer stretch.

MMA is subject to regulatory bodies, usually the athletic or boxing and wrestling commissions in the state in which they are held. Are you saying that you need a regulatory body in place to gamble or need one not to be in place? Do you mean a regulatory body specific to the sport or a regulatory body specific to gambling in that sport? I don't really understand what you are saying and I am unfamiliar with the mechanics of big money gambling and would love to learn more.

Who's acting like sports fixing doesn't happen in MMA? Which ones have you seen specifically that you think are fixed and why? I called the Kimbo v. Cantrell fight a probable dive. I've seen several Pancrase fights I thought were works. Questionable judging happens occasionally.

Aren't you the guy that posted something like, "There are three camps 1) Those who think they're staged 2) Those who want to think every match on teevee is legit 3) Those who work in the industry and know everything."

Those in #3 don't post on the web, plus make their paychecks from said event ... so do the math."

Your '3 camp' theory is a cynical crock of bullshit. Your own remark is proof of that as you are claiming to be in the know and posting on the internet which is a blatant contradiction. Where are you drawing your paycheck from? What puts you in the know? Aren't you just a fan, hence not in the know?

Unless I'm missing something relevant, misinterpreting you, or taking your remarks out of context, I don't think you know what you are talking about. People post complaints about dives on this very board and I think have cried, "rigged" on this board about this specific fight, yet don't claim all fights are rigged. Most of the fans I'm friends with and communicate with discuss the topic of dives and fixes with some frequency and the topic is never polarized into camps like you claim.

You make a lot of vague accusations, yet present nothing to back them up. Was this fight rigged? How do you know or why do you think that? Which one of your '3 camps' are you from? Go out on a limb and post a meaningful, thoughtful opinion. Leave the safety and comfort of your vague accusations and enlighten the naive if you have worthwhile information to contribute.
