i find the time to get all my meals in and work out 2-3 tmes a day though so I cant complain

I worked in management for awhile as a salary position. The hours were 50-70/week depending on the time of year. Money was great, but I was always stressed. So I left in August and started at a new job (40hrs max unless I want overtime) at the expense of a large paycut. I am 100% happier now, but I'm still not in a field that I find rewarding.

Self employed....some weeks it's 5 and some weeks it's 90-100. The thing with being self employed is it is NEVER EVER zero. No such thing as a full on vacation where I can totally forget work for a week or 2. I probably average now about 20 a week, but it's so hard to judge because I do my personal life interspersed with work much of the time. The only time I am truely "off" is when I go hunting but that time is used for centering my mind and coming up with new business ideas so I of course write it off as an expense. ;-)

i worked a whole two hours doing a figure modeling session on Sunday.

i'm technically self employeed too, though I contract with ony one company. like you said Medical, it's never zero. For a large portion of the year I averaged 40 to 50 hrs a week, which is typical. But I'm commission driven, so when things get thick like they are now, I have to buckle down and take advantage of it. Only problem is that after running balls out for a few months, I need a break and pretty much just to vent.

My GF and I split and I have a close friend who is soon to be in a similar situation. I think once the smoke clears with work here in a few weeks we'll head south for a short stint on island, maybe Jamaica. I need to let off some steam.

when im on assignment i work 7 days a week atleast 12 hrs a day up to 18
