G5.0 vs. Gravity: The Neurotic Ramblings of a Man on a Mission

Phase One: WSB
Week 2 -- Sunday

Warmed up with OHP and some light benching

DE Bench
8 triples w/ 155 and doubled minis, cycling normal and medium-width grips.

-These actually got somewhat difficult. I took the advice to make sure to keep my rest intervals at 30 seconds (I didn't time them but I've seen enough commercials on TV to gauge how long 30 seconds is :p)

Standing OHP
175x5x3

-Not as hard as I expected them to be. I think I'm going to try for 180 next week, and then 190 for week four.

Chins (supinated grip)
BWx6x3

-I figure that since I don't want to row twice a week then I'd better be chinning.

Prehab
DB side laterals w/ 20's for 20 reps, then a set of tricep pushdowns for 35 reps (just used the weight that was selected before I got there), and a set of BB curls with the Oly bar for 35 reps.

-I've decided to give prehab the dignity of a boldface heading :)

A good workout. I'm still diggin' the bands.

Put the exercise names in bold too. :rainbow:

nycgirl's home gym thread reminded me of this: when will you be making the move to home workouts?

Well, things have kinda gone upside-down in my life lately. I am probably going to be moving ro Michigan within the next couple of weeks (I'm crossing my fingers - I have made it through the interviews and just need to pass the background check, which shouldn't be a problem but I'm a worrier :)). So who the hell knows what's going to happen. I may find an awesome PL type of gym or something and not want to work out at home.

The other thing I was thinking about is the fact that if I work out at home, I'm not going to be getting out much. Getting out of the house and dealing with humanity (outside of work) has merit, in a wierd sort of way. Plus I need some good "Morons at the Gym" material :D

Forgot to mention the plan for tomorrow - gonna do some pullin' :) I'm going to work up to 455 for 3 singles (455 is ~90% intensity). Next week I'll work to a max single. I'm kinda excited because I think my new focus on grip'n'rip, explosion and 'shoulder pull' will be worth a few pounds.

Good luck on that :) I hope you find somewhere hardcore cause there's nothing quite like training with a bunch of big strong people to push you to be your best.

that lower body workout looks brutal BTW.. urgh @ deads after squats

In case you're refferring to tomorrow, there won't any squatting - the deads are in place of box squats.

In case you mean Friday, the DE stuff is not all that draining - it feels like sub-maximal rep work because it's more like one set of 16 reps with little pauses in there. And the pulls were basically form work at that weight.

It's not as bad as it looks, I swear :)

600 lbs deadlift = 272 kg that's some heavey stuff good luck with that. i tried 210kg thats 463 lbs for a single the outher day, i got it a couple of millimeters off the floor, and i felt like i had been punched in the chest. knocked the wind out of me.

455 should be easy. Between your DE work, your front squats, and your focus I'd put my money on 525+ for a rep.

Checking in, to see how the mortgage industry is treating you... working for my competition, I see.... (ww is a american home mortgage girl but a fellow fish-oil hater :)).
