Whats the longest time away from the gym before you start looking like shit?

Yep , 2 week lay off = drpo in 40 pounds or so in max squat (for 10). some loss in size too but mainly due to drinking and poor diet.

im with oreo, the less i lift the bigger and stronger i get

i only train 2 days a week with a HIT routine im big and ripped too. im thinking of dropping it 1 day a week

This is so fucking true, that its almost depressing! I didn't go to gym for a month or so, decided to check it...just to meet up with some old friends. I hit the military press, before I could do 145 lbs for 4 reps clean, now I can bearly do 125 for 5 reps:(:(! And the sorness is freaking unbelievable, the next day I couldn't lift my arms, and couldn't turn my neck sideways. So if you are going to gym have a long hiatus, don't go all hardcore the first day. Otherwise you will be regreating it the next day.

Tell me about it!

after several months off completely I squated 4 sets of what would be warm-up level weights whiel in good shape

I was sore for 5 DAYS! WTF!

A week later I stepped it up a bit and was barely sore...you really need to ease into it, but you're still gonna be FUCKING SORE no matter what.

I worked out maybe 5 days in 5 weeks. Very light just to maintain, due to an injury. However could not train chest and back. Bodyweight is the same, arms measure the same. Chest and back appear flatter, and after training my back today it was alot weaker. haha How long do you think itll take to get benching and back strength back up?

You guys know whats even more depressing, after realizing you can't lift anywhere near what you used to able to do? Getting smacked by the FLU the next day!

Gym is a heaven for these sort of bacteria, everyone being sweaty and all...yuck:(

So the next day my throat gets a little sore, I say no big deal, I start chomping down on vitamin c and some antibiotic. By afternoon time, my stomach is aching like crazy, I throw up couple of time, and I start seeing grey dots(not kidding).

So another thing to learn from my mistakes, if you haven't received a flu shot, don't hit the gym any time soon. Wait until the flu season is over.

i dont know how i was over training, i only worked out twice aweek and events once a week until it got cold then i dropped events. i spend at tops 20 minutes in the gym. i only do heavy low rep low sets of compund moves and i have mmade humungous gains in my first year. everytime i go to the gym i hit a pr so i dont think i am over trsained.:)

You're muscles remember (at least mine do). I have taken as much as a year off (in my younger days) and I seemed to get it all back in about two to three months. Let yourself heal, that's what's really gonna help break down those barriers.

if i'm on i gain if i'm off i stay the same....if i JUST got off then i would expect to lose everything if i didn't go to the gym
