Whats the longest time away from the gym before you start looking like shit?

This is so fucking true, that its almost depressing! I didn't go to gym for a month or so, decided to check it...just to meet up with some old friends. I hit the military press, before I could do 145 lbs for 4 reps clean, now I can bearly do 125 for 5 reps:(:(! And the sorness is freaking unbelievable, the next day I couldn't lift my arms, and couldn't turn my neck sideways. So if you are going to gym have a long hiatus, don't go all hardcore the first day. Otherwise you will be regreating it the next day.

This is very true and very good advice. Go easy on you first week back.

You're muscles remember (at least mine do). I have taken as much as a year off (in my younger days) and I seemed to get it all back in about two to three months. Let yourself heal, that's what's really gonna help break down those barriers.

ThanX brother! Im still trying to wait it out a little with my back. Appreciate the feedback!

i wouldn't sweat it too much bro, i'd say about two weeks tops.

ThanX brother! Thatd be nice! Knowing me, it may be a while. I once got sick for a week and lost 15lbs, took a long time to get it back. This time I wasnt sick, just injured and didnt train chest or back for 5 weeks. My eating was decent enough to maintain bodyweight. Its my first time taking so much time off. ThanX again!

I have found that I can blow off the gym and/or cardio, so long as I don't drink excessively and keep my diet clean.

Problem is, I love to drink, almost as much as I like pizza.

It's like 3 days or something, give or take a day. If you have the flu and can't eat and then lose all your water weight like I did, it only takes 2 weeks.

For those that lift I am curious as to how a certain amount time off would affect your lbm and muscle definition. I've been slacking lately and havn't touched a weight in 2 weeks and still look pretty much the same although I feel a little weaker.
i'll say a month's time will do me badly.
