Question- personal

OK so, Im not big on like explaining medical conditions or my private life online or anything- but........
I keep getting UTI's and Kidney Infections- and the Dr's I go to keep telling me the same things, i either dont drink enough water- which is wrong- i drink well over 2 liters a day, and the other reason is that i dont piss within 3 hours of having sex.........well seeing as I dont have sex very often and i obey that "rule"- he and i are in 2 seperate places- i highly doubt its either of those 2 reasons-
so i guess what i would like know is- Does anyone else feel my pain??? or keep getting UTI's and/or Kidney infections- im not asking for medical advice or anything- im going to the drs on monday- but am i all alone or not??????

I had that issue a long time ago, and it turned out that I had a bladder infection. It's a different test, and they actually ended up doing an laporoscopy to confirm. Then they put me on this foul liquid for SIX MONTHS. Turns out bladder infections can be very hard to get rid of. Hopefully they've got new treatment options.

Anyway, you might ask for a referral to an urologist.

Anyway, nope haven't had the infection problem. But, I have plenty of other ones!

my mom had a bladder infection and her doctor said a woman would get infected at least 2-3 times in her lifetime the doctor said its important to not leave any urine when u piss it means ''squeeze'' 3-4 times until theres none it prevents bladder infection.

I feel your pain. I had my first UTI at 18, followed by a nasty kidney infection when, amonst other things, my hair fell out and has never grown back the same again. Since then (I'm now 35) I would say I have at least 3 UTI's per year, every time I need antibiotics to clear it up. This year has been one of the worst; I've had it 5 times already. I always get it more often during times of stress.

I have been to many doctors/specialists and I was told that I'm not drinking enough water (I do) and the usual pee after sex, wear cotton panties, cranberry juice etc. My latest GP told me that most people have a "weak" area and the bladder is mine, I should practice all of the above and accept that this is something I have to live with.

If you ever find a cure, please let me know. The frustration gets too much at times.

The long treatment my urologist put me on worked for me. Haven't had any problems since. I can't remember what the stuff was called, but it was a liquid that I had to drink like 3 times a day.

My MIL gets them all the time until she started taking a cranberry supplement. She doesn't get them as often now.

2 liters is not that much actually. Is is only 1/2 gallon. I would up it to 1 gallon a day and see if that helps.

I get 3 to 4 a year! I've had them since my early teens, but i had surgery when I was about 5. I think the dr. screwed something up in there - he was a quack! Mine are usually brought on if I don't get to the restroom soon enough after sex. Sorry if this embarrasses you, but if you take care of yourself, make sure you wash your hands first and urinate after too.
