New Yorkers - Ever eat at Daniel or per se?

I am taking a client out to dinner on Thursday night and have heard of these 2 places but have not been to either but heard great things about both.

isn't per se thomas keller's restaurant? the guy who owns the french laundry out in cali? i know somebody who is studying to be a chef. that place is going to run you at least $700 for lunch. thomas keller is supposed to be the best chef in america. the french laundry is the number 1 ranked restaurant in america.
