My new appartment has a gas stove and oven. The stove top has no real settings like min, med, max just light and then off so I am kinda guessing by the flame how hot it is. Anyways you got any tips?

Thanks :)

lol......

min = smallest flame

max = biggest flame

medium = half way in between???

I prefer gas over elec any day.

And yes, post 2 seems best said, it is all based on judgement

turn the gas on and go to the store come back and light a candle...:biggrin:

It has been two weeks for eggs it is easy for chicken or turkey not so much. I don't want to die so I tend to over cook it. :(

hmmm, try using a lower setting than you think you'd need. The gas is instantly at temperature, whereas your old electric range took time for the resistance to electron flow to create heat. U mean like ground turkey? Sometimes adding a little water helps so it doesnt burn a thin layer onto the pan.

Electric sucks ass. We wouldn't buy the house (when we were house shopping) unless it had a gas stove or was plumbed for gas in the kitchen.

Once you go gas you will NEVER go electric.
