My home gym is a reality...

Congrats!

I got a new york barbell power rack also. Great power rack.

I like the fact they use the solid steel safety pins.

If I had a home gym, I would advertise it and let people pay to use it, full privacy and cold water for mixing postworkout shake provided. $6/hour. Need spotter(me) add $3/hour. haha

that is a beautiful sight man. a question - what about the air circulation? it would get mighty stuffy in there i'd imagine

Not my pic posted earlier but our basment will have air ducts and dual zone heat/air so I'm set.

Gonelifting, is that the Tony Little "Gazzelle" in your corner????? HAHAHA. Please tell me that it's your wife's...

lol Yeah, it`s my wife`s. We had that when living in an apartment and just never got rid of it. We lived on the second floor and it made the least noise...

I have air ducts in my ceiling as well but I`m in the process of putting baseboard heat in there. I`m also putting a Dehumidifier in the basement.

PS you can`t see it there but we also have an Ab Roller. lol

Looks like some sweet equipment. I have alot of equipment from New York Barbell, including the super power rack and lat machine (same exact one as you have). It feels almost like a commercial weight stack!! I have to say I am very pleased with their equipment. I'm looking into aquiring a cable crossover machine. ANy suggestions?

Congrats Gretak!! I'm also putting together my own home gym as we speak. The Power rack is made by Bodycraft. Take a look http://www.bodycraft.com/f430.tpl It's made with 12 guage steel and has a lifetime warranty. I already have a F-I-D Bench made by Keys Fitness, Gym Quality Dip Stand, and a Body Solid Leg Extension/Leg Curl http://www.bodysolid.com/BSStrength/SpecializedStations/LowerBody/CEC340.html Now, I have to get my flooring, Hex DBs(5-100lbs), Dumbell Rack(3 Tiers), 500lbs of Olympic Plates, Plate Tree, two 4 x 7 Wall Mirror, and two 4' x 6' extra thick Rubber Mats that weigh 70-80lbs each from Tractor Supply Company. I'm thinking about getting the 200lb weight stack and Lat Attachment for the power rack and a GHR machine made by NY Barbell. Here it is http://www.newyorkbarbells.tv/82626.html But that's still up in the air. I also have a Trimline Treadmill that I keep in my bedroom. I bought the Leg Extension/Leg Curl used for $150.00 and it normally costs $600-$700. Man, I can't wait to get everything going!!!:D

I'm already planning on additional equipment. I lifted legs today at the gym and it got me thinking that I'm going to need something besides the power rack (squatting) to get the most out of my leg training so I'm thinking about saving up for the leg machine It is almost $500 including shipping but it has a 1500lb capacity and I'd be able to grow into that machine. I could also do calves with it.

I've been looking at rubber flooring and someone else suggested the livestock/horse supplies store too. I haven't seen any great deals at the sites I've been to so far. Usually around $70 for a 4x6' mat.

I'm toying with the idea of using indoor/outdoor carpet on the majority of my gym area and just building a deadlift platform that I could put the FID bench on for dumbell work.

We won't move till late April / early May but I'm thinking about picking up 2 - 45lb plates every other week until then. Then I'll just pick up a $99 300lb oly set for another pair of 45's and the assorted 35's, 25's, 10 etc.

lol alot of excitement in the air, I love it. Ranger that sounds like a great setup. congrats.

gretak911, I bought those same $99 Olympic sets you`re talking about from SA. I ended up getting 4 sets w/4 bars. The only complaint I have is the bars are not great, they bend too easily. You may need another just for deadlifts or squats etc.

Plus with a lot of weights I don`t need to strip down a bar and place it on another bench or floor for different exercises. lol I`m lazy.

have fun guys...

Gretak, go to http://www.tractorsupply.com Check and see if there's a Tractor Supply nearby. They have 4'x6' rubber mats for $39 each. That's where I'm going to get mine from. Also, I'm going to cover the majority of my floor with 4'x4' rubber mats from Academy Sports here in town. A pack of 4 was $40 and I plan on getting 3 packs. I'll use the heavy duty stuff when I use DB presses, DB rows, Deadlifts, etc...
