Calories too low for my weight/height?

Hey guys..first post at this website just looking for some advice. I'm 6"0' @ 290 pounds (38% BF estimated) and I'm wondering if 1,900-2,100 calories is too low for someone my size? I've read numerous times that the more obese you are the more weight you can safely lose each week. Thanks in advance!

If you're working out (weights or cardio) 3-5 sessions per week your maintenance calories are 3300. A 20 % deficit would put u around 2650 calories. These calcs are based on the Katch-McArdle formula.

In my humble opinion I'd aim for the 2600 calories and also put lots of emphasis on your macro ratios. Keep protein high.

Have you considered IF. (intermittent fasting). It works wonders man.

Yeah you don't want to start too low. You'll end up feeling week and burnt out. Best to start around what soupeater said. And add or subtract 500 cals a day as needed. IF works for some people too, some do good with high protein low carb moderate healthy fats, some do good with high protein low fats low carbs. You'll have to try a few things and see which gets you the better results. Always a safe bet is too just eat clean and lean as possible.
