Breaking in my new Metal Viking Pro

This is a fantastic shirt. Did some 3 board presses. 500 felt great for 1 (almost 2). Got 455 for 5 nice reps.

What a big difference from the Inzer Blast. (no shit, huh?)

It feels great and has a pretty good groove, from what I can tell. Didn't even bother trying to touch. Maybe next time....

Hey BG, I just got the same shirt. My shirt size is a 52. I compete @ 165 weight class and got 505 once maybe twice off 4 boards. I have no idea what it is going to take to touch in this shirt. I have a meet this weekend and will probably use it on 3rd and 4th attempts.

Mine is a size 60 and it fits perfect. A little tight getting the arms on, but definitely managable.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes. I'll try to touch next time, but I was sure I wouldn't touch the first time. I probably work down the boards with about 455lbs to start.

I love the fit. I am new to all of this so I am excited like a little girl!!! :p

Nice to see you in a better shirt. I hope it works well for you. For at least me if I were going to take a weight off the chest I would work the boards down.

This an example now for what I normally do and have done. I would warm up to maybe 315 for a few reps and put shirt on and add a 3 board. I first let the collar ride high up on towards my neck. Bar weight will 405.

I will drop the board to a 2 board and take 455 and do the same with the shirt.

Then next I will do 485-500 off a 1 board, I will pull the collar down slightly this should be tough to touch the board and should launch fairly easily. Leave the collar position the same and jump to 525-535 this should barely touch with the collar in the right spot. Pull collar sightly down more and add bar weight 550-555 this should be a solid touch.

Next Crank collar down and go another 20-30lbs heavier.

This is what I do when I try to touch a weight as you can see I am making 20-30lbs jumps off the chest.

Thanks, Joe. That is pretty much what I was planning. I really need to work on my lockouts to take advantage of the carryover of this shirt. I pushed 500 in an Inzer Blast, so once I get my triceps stronger I should be good for 550 solid.

I can't wait to get home. I'm doing a strongman in Feb and an APA meet in MAY....

Did some more board work. I stayed at 455 to keep my joints from getting to sore. Took it down to 1 board and it felt great.

Then I took 475 down to 2 boards and it flew up pretty good.

I'll get up to 500 on Friday and see where it goes from there.

The collar is pretty tough to get down on this shirt...

The Viking rips my chest to peices, but is a good shirt, I am looking forward to putting in more work with it next year.

Put a deflated ball in each sleeve, wet the shirt down and pump it up, leave it over night and it should make it a bit more comfortable to use around the arms.
