Anyone here ever go to the training board?

casual, im sure you werent included in the "4 idiots" remark...everyone knows who they are, and the typical response is: Thats so stupid, go lift, this is the only way to do it, i wanna be huuuuuge, stop thinking, go lift lift lift lift.

I can't go to the powerlifting board til I can squat my bodyweight more than once.

A lot of the remaining people have either become tired of posting up the same advice over and over, some have become frustrated to see their responses completely ignored or misconstrued with a follow up of seeing that very same question asked yet again in a different way.

....So, rather than pointing fingers as to what or whom is to blame, take the time to figure out how to make it a better place.

Velvett has 90% of it right on the head....

Also way too much shit talking by people up there... it is freaking annoying to go out of your way then have some jackass talk shit when you were just trying to be nice in the first place....

IMO the training board sucks ass because there are tons of peeny ass dudes (who most of time are even on AAS) talking shit about knowing about how to get big... Gimme a break. Too many theories and not enough throwing on more weight.

The PL board does okay (but is very slow cause there is less PL interest) but then random BB dudes jump in and ask shit like "How do I get huge arms?!" Most of the repeat contributors up there in PL are solid tho...

So what's the cure then?

Try and convince lurkers to post?

Get mods on the forum that know how to lift (not just a basic knowledge)?

We already had one incident on the PL board between a knowledgeable powerlifter and Training Board mod - - - and the mod lost the "discussion" handily. Which mightbe part of the reason some of the more seasoned lifters will hesitate to post - mods that sit high and mighty on their title, editing posts, and spewing the gospel.

That's most unfortunate.

I think it would be too easy to place all the blame with mods.

If you want those board sto function differently/better and you have ideas as to how to do it or what you would like to see done to improve the boards...

POST IT!

I will be (I'm sure other mods would too) your and whomever is willing to set forth their ideas personal collecter of ideas and nagger to try and see thos idea through.

Ready, set, GO.

Lack of contributors and the same questions asked repeatedly doesnt help either. Ill give my answer on a question and the same question will appear a few minutes later in a seperate thread. I analyze my lifting pretty deeply, but not on the molecular level. Sometimes I think it gets a little too deep for my interests. Many of these things cant be known or truly proven, so I dont see much point in debating about them. Discussing them is fine. But I dont usually join in on the really scientific debates. Im not a scientist, just someone whos been obsessed with lifting for the last 10 years. Ive read a decent amount of literature on the subject, but my strength is in my actual experience lifting weights, not what Ive read. Instead of complaining about how bad the training board is, why not contribute?

ive tried to contribute, started a training journal, etc. but it lasts about 5 seconds and no one cares. plus there are a bunch of jackasses that post whore over there on every thread, and only post in each others threads. (walkingbeast and casual not included)

One problem that was already mentioned is that people confuse powerlifting with just weight training or bodybuilding. I've seen posts of guys asking how to get their pecs bigger... how would a bunch of powerlifters know?? and if they do, are they really powerlifters? most are not concerned with bigger- they are concerned with STRONGER.

Well, if it means anything, I enjoyed reading your journal. :FRlol: :FRlol: As a single moderator though, I cant be saviour of the board. Know what I mean? It takes a number of quality posters to make the board work. A moderator can only direct the board. Ive written out my training method and stickied it, lots of paragraphs on training and diet, (the ones that have worked for me),but my opinion alone doesnt make a board. Not everyone will agree with me. Im sure MOST dont. So there needs to be variety and quality. There is a great amount of information available through the search function, on the training board from all the information thats accumulated over the years. I agree that the board has slowed down, but I still find it worthwhile to post there. It would be nice to get more feedback though. It has been limited lately. I think it will pick up over time. Just needs to be kept going in the right direction, and hopefully I can help do that.

Theres alot of that, especially with the "newbies". Questions like, " How do I get the left side of my abdominals symettrical with my right?" and shit like that. If there were more experienced posters on the board I think it would counteract the problem. There are a few as it stands, but I know of a few knowledgable lurkers who could contribute greatly to the board. One of them, who I talk to through PM more so then on the boards. I havent contributed as much lately, since Ive been pretty busy, but Im still on when I can. There definately has to be more understanding between powerlifting and bodybuilding. The differences are major. Im surprised that even some who claim to have lifted for a long time, still cant comprehend the difference. Or maybe they dont choose thier words carefully.
