Anyone here ever go to the training board?

I can't seem to get responses on the training board. I'm not sure if they don't like me over there or if people are intimidated by my post count and think that I'm some kind of weight training vet that expects complicated answers.
.

i go there. nobody wants to believe the girl though.

i don't think it has anything to do with that. in order to give advice on the training board and be taken seriously, your bench must be over 275 and your arms must be over 16".

or am i thinking of my gym? great, now i'm confused.

Saint and Strangrebrew nailed it. The quality of the forum has gone down hill. Quickly.

If you really want a chuckle - check out the Powerlifting forum. There were some exchanges on there that were completely laughable.

the four idiots that post on the training board are just that. they would like to meetup for a circle jerk sometimes i think cuz all they do is stroke each others pathetic egos. try the powerlifting board. i'm trying to post more in there and so is Becoming. i would like to see that board succeed more than the training board because it now truley sucks ass

you're a moron

But that aside, here's the chief issue as I see it:

A good training board will be welcoming and involving to people at all levels of training knowledge.

What we have now are a few people who know a great deal and are willing to teach, a few people who don't like to think too much about their lifting, the occasional noob, and a bunch of lurkers. Not a whole lot of variety.

you can see where this gets old. The only way to make it better is participate.

Don't feel like you need to know a lot of shit to post on the training board! I like to get in hardcore discussions of really science-y stuff because it's a way to pass the time. But this absolutely does not mean that I will ignore basic questions.

I can't go to the powerlifting board til I can squat my bodyweight more than once.

I believe it's the current ebb and flow of things.

A lot of the popular powerlifters went to IT and brought their friends and some when to/started their own boards.

A lot of the remaining people have either become tired of posting up the same advice over and over, some have become frustrated to see their responses completely ignored or misconstrued with a follow up of seeing that very same question asked yet again in a different way. (Diet board has this problem at times too)

Many people are afraid to post in fear that someone who think they "knows everything" or that their way is "the only way" will mock them and their answer.

In short, I think we have a lot of lurkers right now, quite a few people that know what they are doing but are uncomfortable giving advice given the potential of hurting someone in giving bad advice. Not that the "boys" would care but most of the women post about training in the women's board.

So, rather than pointing fingers as to what or whom is to blame, take the time to figure out how to make it a better place.
