I see I have to watch you more closely now! :) Touche (or however you spell it), but I think you probably get what I was trying to get at...

some good comments here guys. I agree that's its all in the attitude and a few here seem to have it. I've had it for some time now but I am being realistic. And I dont doubt that someone like cheesecake at nearly 300 pounds will get this weight and much more very soon. But not many here are anywhere near that bodyweight, which doesnt hurt on the journey to 6 plates per side. I say MORE POWER TO YOU to everyone!!! Rock on...

My point being is that its not realistic

you should not set artificial limitations on your abilities. Much of this is in the mind. I have far exceeded what I once thought possible for me. I now realized that there is no benefit to putting any limits on what I may be able to achieve.

As for the question, 585 is a decent amount of weight, but there are many, many on this board that could get to the point where they can do that kind of weight for reps on a number of exercises. Maybe not bench, but squats, deads, rackpulls, RDLs, good mornings, ect.---sure. Many on here can already do that amount and much more.

How much weight can you fit on a standard olympic bar with 45 lb plates?

10 or 11 per side depending on thickness of the plates. I've had 10 per side before on our bar; it was close to the end.
