Strained something in my calf :(

Lee said:
once i tried the 100 calf raise with low weight theory out. claves were pumped to hell the rest of the day but didnt hurt. the next day, i got out of bed to go to school, and screamed when i put weight on my leg. it felt like i had 10 knives sticking bone deep in each leg.

Haha, exact samething happened to me. I thought man, it was hards as hell when I tried to nail the reps, but the day of the workout they weren't that sore, so I was like, oh well, that didn't work, but my god, the next day, I couldn't go to work.

I've had the same problem twice before. The last time was a couple months ago, and it was slightly worse than the first. Both times I couldn't even stand on my left leg but the last time it happened I noticed a bruise on the calf. I dunno what that means exactly other than overworking it obviously.

Off topic here but...

One of the other exercises I did take from Montana's book that you might like to try is for abs.

Start by sitting flat on the floor with your legs out in front of you.
Bend your knees and bring your heels about 12 inches away from your butt, keeping your feet flat on the floor.
Place your hands on the outside of your knees with your fingers wrapped around the front of your knees.
Lean back until your arms are stretched straighout out.
Now let go, keep your feet flat on the floor and try to raise your arms straight up over your head. (key word "try")
This should be fairly tough to do, hold that postion for 10 seconds, return to the starting position, rest 10 seconds and do it all again.
Repeat until you cry like a little girl.

Givem a try and let me know what you think.

cool, thanks, don't think I'll be doing that routine I did anymore. I've always been blessed with my calves, bigger than my bi's.
Do you do calfs every week? I only get them like you did if I work them out once in like a year.

about once a week or less

and since I started bulking and getting back into my groove about 2 & half weeks ago I've packed on a massive .25inch on my bi's and 1/2in. on chest...whooo...weeeee. Alright seriously, I know thats nothing to brag about but it's cool to see my body grow again. "Yum, Yum, eat up!"
