i went to a new gym to use heavier DB, cuz ballys only has 100's

so i did my regular routine, but the octagon weights felt a little

heavier. i could only do 315 for 1 and also they dont have 35 plates.. i thought that was weird. but i did good on the incline DB

80x8 - garbage
90x8 - garbage
100x6 - felt good
105x5 - i was happy

but, what do u guys think about those weights... pretty shitty right?

yeah...pretty shitty i'd say...

As long as you got a good workout. . . . that is all that matters.

I wouldn't recommend maxing out week after week on the bench. For example, if your max is 315-330lbs, you should work with 245 to 275lbs for your working sets.

The octagon weights rest 1/4"-1/2" lower on the ground. This makes pulling off the floor with them extra difficult, but does increase your weights that you are able to pull with round plates. As for every other exercise, they are just as heavy as any other plate.

i dont max out every week... i only can get 315 with those shitty weights.. i can do it for a nice 2 at the regular gym i go to. thats on monday

on fri i do 5x5 or4x12 with 225. with 5x5 i use 245-275

and on monday after i do either 315 or 335 i go back down for 1 set of 295x2 and 1 set of 275x4-5. so actually, those last 2 sets are my work sets

same deal with incline except with only 1 warm up set..

then incline DB or either 3x10 or 10, 8, 6 or 8, 8, 6.. so kind of deal like that

in 2 weeks in gonna try 345.. i have a good feeling ill get it

they might weigh the same, but the holes they make for the handles make the plates shift back and forth. which makes them harder to control, and makes them FEEL heavier. both my training partners felt the same thing, as well as a few of my friends that joined that gym. so that means next monday 315 will feel like butter.. cant wait
