My no BS take on the protein bars everyone is talking about...

Alright.. so I'm not one to buy into hype, but everyone and their mother is talking about these things(no surprise there.. considering how a lot of people are on this forum). I picked up a bag of just the regular peanut butter bars because the other flavors just don't sound that appealing. They arrived and I reviewed the list of contents, everything looks good, all solid ingredients. I did add in extra peanut butter and more unflavored whey protein along with a little extra water to make up for the added ingredients.

Let me first say, I don't find these as "amazing" as everyone raves about. Considering the ingredients, they do taste good for what they are. Are they better for you than a regular protein bar, of course. The consistency is like a thick thick brownie only cold and a little more tough, this could be because of the added ingredients or because I'm eating them straight from the fridge(someone chime in on this). Now onto the price, if you're the type that doesn't like to spend time in the kitchen to conjure up things, they are priced well(even better with a 15% off) but these could easily be replicated at home with the right ingredients and probably shave a few dollars.

EDIT; I also could do without the raisins & cranberries, they seem out of place.

Hope this helps people on that are on the fence about these, and no this isn't influenced by anything related to NTBM.

Quality review. Thanks for the input, it's nice to see a varying opinion.

If you are referring to the NTBM ones I had the peanut butter and loved and still do love them. My always come out quite palatable. No issues with them being chewy. Did you use honey? I have been using supplement barsfor years do to portability and the way I train. These are quite different. I get tired of chewing cardboard bars. These are heads above that store bout stuff.

That is my 2 c's and honest opinion.

very honest review here.I was on the fence about these as well.I'd say try the apple flavor this is the best flavor imo.the thing about these bars is you can add stuff to them to custom fit them to your liking.I enjoyed the berries and stuff in them as it was a nice change from the bars I normally eat.I'd say they were tougher because they were straight out the fridge I like to leave my out after they gel together in the fridge then they are perfect as I hate eating cold bars.

I personally love them and my gf does also. it only takes me like 10-15min to make a batch for the week and they taste great to me.

thankyou for the review though. :-)

I love em, these and colossal 100 bars are my fav.....plan on stocking up on both for my winter bulk

Yes I used local honey. I've had bars that taste WAY better than these, but are not as healthy compared to these.

They aren't bad for what they are made from. People talk about these things like they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, IMO they aren't. They are good considering what they are made from though. Maybe I'll pick up another bag and just add in what is said on the package instead of adding in extra protein powder and peanut butter, and see what the difference is.

Do not know what to tell you bro. I do think they are. I again have used protein bars of almost any kind for over 20 years and I love the damn things. I have bags in my supplement locker at all times.

I can give you a discount code if you want...
