just out of curiosity, what percentage of earned income did the top 50% garner last year? in other words, how do earnings compare to taxes? i know you're a flat tax advocate....i'm curious as to how the breakdown would change under a flat tax.

I am a "no tax" advocate

I am sure the income breaks down along similar lines. My point is (in this post) that saying "they (immigrants) pay no taxes" and are not entitled to anything in the US for that reason is misleading (they pay sales tax) and illogical, as tens of millions of Americans pay no taxes.

I worked as a landscaper for 5 years during college. The damn border jumpers would live 12 in a house and work 70 hour weeks. They'd take more hours, too, if the boss would let them. That business could not have offered the service it did at the price it did without these workers. Did that mean that less "Americans" were hired? You bet your ass it did. Because the "Americans" were too egotistical to accept that they were not that valuable of a commodity. If they would have been willing to put in the same work ethic at the same price, they would have been employed.

Also, I hate to break it to YOU EXCLUSIONIST ASSHOLES, but some of us compete with foreigners every day who have not legally immigrated to the US. IT IS CALLED TELECOMMUTING YOU FUCK MONKEYS. MY COMPETITION IS IN EVERY COUNTRY IN THE FUCKING WORLD. PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO DO MY JOB FOR LESS WITHOUT HAVING TO LEAVE THEIR HOMELAND.

You will be competing with foreigners whether they jump the border or not. Whether it be because your companies move to Mexico or because Mexico moves to you, it does not really matter.


If you want job security and a high salary, get a marketable skill set.
