alcatraz pullup post

lol...I hope you weren't talking to me bro..I'd rip your arm out of it's socket :)

I'm doing the Ontario armwrestling championship on
July 10th...hoping to qualify for nationals in Winnipeg

i was talking to you, who else would i be talking to?
i wanted to to see if i could bring out the tapout monster
and i did, :(

don't get me wrong way sick but why not do correct pullups instead of the rediculous kilping ones?
everything else is pimp why skip over that in the name of quanity?
form>quanity

kipping isn't to train back exclusively; it's supposed to work your core and other bs at heart-pumping cardio pace!

They're trying to do ridiculous volume, that's why. Obviously the dude can do a sick number of dead hand pullups, but then he'd probably have less on the other stuff. Crossfit is more function than form in that they're trying to simulate real world fitness where you would be using your body to gain momentum for certain things. If you're a rock climber and need to swing your body up to another level so that you don't fall off the mountain, are you going to yourself "no that would be cheating, have to do it dead hang or you can't look at yourself in the mirror tommorrow morning". :lmao:

It's basically to see how long you can keep moving. The heart capacity to do what he's doing is ridiculous.

I got winded watching that bitch.

he is probably one of "the" most all around athletic men on the planet. There's a story of him at the crossfit finals getting thrashed by the 5k, people just doused him with water for 15 minutes....than he pulled himself together and completed the deadlift requirements which were to deadlift at around 300 then step up in certain increments over a 30 minute period. I think he went up to close to 500 pounds and got himself in 3rd place because of it. He's lost alot of that muscle mass that was holding him back though, so he doesn't have the overheating problems anymore.

LOL...
My ancestors speak of this tapout monster... it can create, but left unchecked will bring disaster.

still don't understand the reasoning behind why someone would want to do some many pullups in one go

I agree completely. Crossfit philosophy makes sense, and I don't think they revolve around pushup/pullup quantity. However, yeah, I'd rather have muscle volume developed than qualify for 'olympic constest in amount of pullups'.

The purpose of the pullup is one of the best to develop muscle volume, not a survival/function type activity... IMO.
