Bout a week after this thread started, Thands began to tell me bout a certain type of shoe that has been gradually she has seen populate her neck of the woods, uppereastside NYC, and her Equinox. Coincidentally, Red Sam gave me a link bout the vibrams, since I asked what Vibrams were, earlier in this thread.
I'm gonna be here in KC for the rest of the summer, and I've seen like a few on peeps in the Plaza the uppereastside equivalent/replica of KC, and a couple at the Golds I lift at.
Anyway, She doesn't walk to the gym in them, and she can't fathom on how anybody could walk on pavement and is baffled by anyone running in them.
However, when it comes to any kind of squats, bulgarian/frontal/regs, deads, lunges.
She loves them. She's able to feel safer, more balanced, more secure, and more connected to the ground, than in regular shoes. She is like a good 10-15 lbs stronger with them. Training/Nutrition/Competing is part of her career and , and while the fire has been lit for me, training wise, through her, it's not my career.
I'll probably get these later, but it's not a priority. Shoe appears to work for her lifting, and helped more than we both thought.
I dunno what the real contention of this thread is, but her take is that she doesn't know how peeps would buy them for casual wear, but for lifting, they offer
a kind of support/secure feel that regular sneaks don't.
Sorry bout the novel, yo.
