So coronary artery disease was apparently "non existen" before 1920.

what is the purpose of any thread here? DOn't ask me that when you know full well that coming here is akin to going to the zoo and dropping in to the primate enclosure and partaking of the traditional pooping in hand and rifling it at someone. Don't kid yourself.

I'm asking you the specific purpose of this thread. Ultimately all threads are created to stimulate discussion -- so what discussion were you trying to have?

Well, I suspect it didn't exist because it wasn't classified as a disease yet? Their "heart just failed."

If you look at the explosion of autism cases in the United States I would wager it's based more on diagnostic criteria and less on vaccines and environment?

That's a loaded rhetorical question of course because I dated a social worker that worked with autistic kids....My ex-wife diagnosed me with Aspergers because I'm emotionally distant and Leslie just laughed when I told her about it....My emotional distance is a learned behavior and not genetic...:)

I can't stand it people "diagnose" each other with the latest syndrome or disorder.
It's even worse when people try to diagnose themselves.
Don't people realize that at the best of times a lot of these diagnoses, even by doctors, are just guesses?
I don't know about Aspergers or autism, I am not really referring to that here, but bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD, antisocial disorder, borderline disorder, PTSD, etc. If you go to a psychiatrist, they are just guessing according to classifications that are not by any means 100% to be trusted. Basically psychiatrists all get together to talk about these symptoms at conventions and meetings and try to put names to symptoms- it is not an exact science. This becomes obvious when you have people looking up disorders and convincing themselves they have the disorder, going to the doctor and repeating back the symptoms they read, even they don't entirely fit. And trust me, being prescribed something like Lamictal when you don't have bipolar disorder, Ritalin when you don't have ADHD, or Clonazepam when you don't have PTSD is a recipe for disaster and impaired brain function.

^^^ lololol

you know, its crap like this though in all seriousness probably is more like...they had no real method of detecting it rather than it didn't exist

about the only medical conspiracy theory I have involves fibromyalgia and the advent of the tsh test

Just poop in your hand and throw it at me already, it's not hard.

Now why would I ever do that?

You created what I am assuming was meant to be a provocative thread, and my antennae went up.

Or were you just bringing a random Internet claim to our collective attention?

The stats are on your side..the majority of people diagnosed under the DSM IV by trained professionals fall under the "undiagnosed other" classification as opposed to a defined condition.

Even so, emotions are 50% of our lifes experiences. They are the part outside what you analyze intellectually. To not experience them is a tragedy. Yes, emotions are scary ,they are subjective, reactive...individual. Yes, I know it's hard to connect with them...even so much you can deny that you have them..lol but even so, they are still half of our experiences in this life. Emotions can't be categorized..assessed..analyzed or evaluated and they can't be fixed because they're not broken! Don't be like that.

Emotions can be suppressed... just saying...
