Toasted bread vs fresh bread

For some reason I think that toasted bread is more healthy than straight fresh bread, and some people have confirmed that to me. They claimed that by toasting your bread you kinda reduce the amount of carbs in it. Is it true?
 
Depends on how you prepare your toasts - if you do that in the oven at a moderate temperature, which is just enough to get your bread dry and crunchy, I think that it is more healthy than bread as such.
 
Toasting bread will slightly increase the resistant starch content, which will increase the fibre of the bread slightly. We are talking maybe an additional one gram of fibre per slice.

Toasting your bread doesn't give you a free pass to eat bread lol. Wheat is very inflammatory in the body. Oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potato etc are all much better carbohydrate choices.
