New Cars in California Must Display Global Warming Score

OAKLAND, Calif. -- California is making it mandatory for cars to be labeled with global warming scores, figures that take into account emissions from vehicle use and fuel production.

The law requiring the labels goes into effect at the start of next year for all 2009 model cars, though its expected the labels will be popping up on cars in the coming months.

The labeling law forces cars for sale to display a global warming score, on a scale of one to 10, which is based on how vehicles in the same model year compare to one another. The higher the score, the cleaner a car is. The score takes into account emissions related to production of fuel for each vehicle as well as the direct emissions from vehicles.

The score will be displayed next to the already-required smog score, which also rates cars one to 10 for how many smog-forming emissions they emit. For both scores, an average vehicle will have a score of five.

California is the first state of pass such as law, and a similar law will take effect in New York for 2010 model year vehicles. Global warming scores will be included on the state's DriveClean website.

While this law is intended to help consumers take into account emissions while purchasing cars, a proposed law in the European Union would require E.U. public sector bodies put a price on emissions.

A law endorsed by the European Parliament's Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety would make governments put a monetary cost on the emissions of vehicles they plan to purchase, and add that to expense calculations. The law would exclude certain types of vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks.

The science shows the earth is warming. From satallite images of the north and south pole , To temperature reads all over the world on land and from the oceans and water around the globe the average tempature of the earth is rising.
Now how much of it is do to humans ? Is this a natural cycle due to solarflares and a extra warm sun ? To a slight wobble of the earth in it's orbit.
Experts know the earth can wobble slighty and be pulled to the sun every 10-30 thousand years due to other planets gravitationa pull becoming weak , then the bigger planets like saturn pick up gravitational pull and inch the earth back away from the sun. This is what experts say happened during the last iceage the earth was pulled away , now experts feel the earth is being pulled towards the sun comming off the last iceage and that in 10-30k the earth will go through another iceage.

Lots of things can be the culprit to global warming from things humans can not control , If saturn was hit by asteroid it would be knocked off orbit and the sun would pull the earth closer, If the sun suddenly had a extream flare eruption wich is very possible it could pretty much scorth the whole earth.
BUT we do know the global warming gases do exist and humans are emitting them. So we can control that , if it helps good

Well here is the problem.. lets say humans are responsible for 10%.. of global warming.. is it worth hundreds of millions if not trillions of dollars to fix 10%.. when the chinese and Indians will set us back in 1 year what we accomplish in ten?

Is it worth damaging our already weak economy diverting expendable income that could be going into capitakl investment.. to save 10% when in 20-30 years the technology will be there to fix it anyways.. (much like current scrubber technology that didnt exist 30 years ago)

Ask yourself.. at what cost to fix that miniscule amount? Because .. if we were to do what many liberals are asking.. there are a lot of things that will have to give.

And the reality is that there is NO CONCRETE PROOF that humans are the cause of any significant portin of global warming.

Humans are smart but not very well suited for survival . A cockroach can survive a nuclear fall out . Humans would be dead in a few days with out water. I mean humans get sick alot , The global warming could be good to whipe out the weak people and only the genetically strong survive in remote areas of the earth and slowly repopulate over the next 5thousand years.
Then with the world population cut down from 7billion down to a few million global warming from car emissions wont be a issue anylonger
