Weight added by equipment, total lbs or %increase?

OK, some guys say they get 150 lbs out of their bench shirt. However, these are usually the big heavy weights benching over 700. People have said that you should get at least 100 out of your shirt. I don't think it works that way. I think it adds a percentage increase. I don't think someone benching 200 raw would be able to get 300 in a shirt. However, someone with a 600 raw lift could very well get 700 with the shirt. What do you guys think? Percentage or total lbs?

It all depends man, I don't think there is any particular rule to it... it depends on a number of things, the type of shirt, the fit, how well you use it, etc...
