My wife who works for the USPS, was attacked by 2 boxers a few weeks ago. She was covering someone else route when she delivered mail to a house, and as she was walking to the next house to large boxers came running from the back of the house and knocked her down and bite her multiple times. She ended up throwing her mail bag at them and one ran away. The other one just stayed there waiting for her to do make a move. It ended up running back to the back of the house where the other dog ran.
She went to the ER, and they fixed her up the best they could. Her left leg had about a 5" laceration that was pretty deep. As well as 4 different puncture wounds around her knee. Her right leg got about a 2 1/2" laceration above the ankle that was also pretty deep, and a bunch of surface cuts and punture wounds.
She is doing okay, but the 2 lacerations are going to leave some unsightly scars.
The USPS is suing the homeowners to recoupe medical expenses, and she has to go to court here in a few weeks (i think).
My question is, Should we get a lawyer and sue the homeonwners (or their insurance) for damages? What would you do?
