You are functioning under the assumption that this boy is even enrolled in some institution of higher learning somewhere.

But yes, your response is 100% correct, not that he would know that.

Definetely, we should not take him too seriously.

Anyhoo, talkin' about religious idiosyncrasies --- Would you be any surprised if these religious nutters dismiss any other religious books different than their own one?

What evidences does this boy seem to have to presume that his faith is prevalently superior and in accordance with the absolute truth?

Honestly, these are the folks who do take for granted the fact that they are today living in a democracy(not in a fundamentalist theocratic state) that allowed them the right to choose to believe and worship some supernatural power and superstitions since its fundation struggled by its very funding fathers.

Yet, they partly ignore a few of these fundamental principles conveniently to back seemingly pretty rules written in a dubious fairy-tale book 2,000 years ago in a region where many of their ancestors escaped 15 centuries later to find safe shelter in a land of *freedom*. What a freakin' dilemna --- What is more valid the law of the men or the law of God?

Don't you find it amusingly contradictory?

Indeed it is.

Personally I feel that everyone should be free to believe whatever suits them without judgment (as long as they aren't wanting to murder, rape, pillage and destroy in the name of that belief.) Interestingly enough the very people who "founded this country on the premise of religious freedom" damn others who also choose to exercise the same freedom to hell for not believing what they believe.

If they can believe in hell why can't I NOT believe in hell?

They can not read anything other than their book. If they did it would be counterproductive to the teachings of the higher-ups. Plus they would find they have been duped. And would instantly self destruct. "POOF"

Sweetheart, there is a tremendous amount of wisdom in the bible. Please do not discount it totally. That would be like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

It is way too violent, way to controling.

Explore the Budda and the teachings of his disciples. Then look for the philosiphies of practices thousands of years older than this story book. They teach harmony, good will toward the earth men and the universe. Not burning in a make believe place some made up to scare peasants.

Expand the mind and all else will follow.

Make the bed too.

I won't disagree with your advice, however, I don't think that much of the bible should be negated altogether. I still maintain that if it were perhaps edited and all the irrelevant, controlling, violent removed, had the lore and epic removed and have those parts placed where they belonged and just keep the relevant, uplifting parts then I think it would be a tremendous help to mankind that it might better navigate the waters of life.

Having said that, WTF is it with you trying to get me to make the bed? I told you of all the domestic chores in the history of everness that is the one that I am least likely to be moved to do... EVER. The sooner you accept this, the happier WE will be.
