Suggestions for a bud trying to get some mass

slobberknocker said:
Bulking diet:

2 boxes hamburger helper
2 lbs. ground beef
1 gallon milk

about 6300 calories

Is that how you got over 300 bro? :) I'm not much of a beef eater but lots of whole milk and yogurt, eggs, natural peanut butter, flax oil and tons of protein has me at 257 now.

Training for a year? How old is he? How active is he outside of the gym. Does he party all the time, does he sleep regularly, does he take rec drugs??? There are lots of questions to be asked here. Good grief. What is it with people who feel that when they don't get the results they want right away it's time to get on gear. Your "friend" needs to eat at least 6 - 8 times a day or more. He NEEDS to train with the heavy basic exercises. He NEEDS to learn that gains are not made in the gym but out of the gym during rest. He NEEDS to train longer than a year and learn how to properly train before he goes throwing up his hands.

What makes you think that if he can't put on weight naturally, that he'll even hold any of the gains he MIGHT make on gear. Tell your "friend" to learn patience and both of you might realize gains don't come over night.

Right on, brother, tell it man!!! :D

i would keep him away from any juice until he at least builds some kind of a base for his physique. 6 foot 145lbs is one skinny bastard. get him to eat like its his fuckin' job. and tell him to try doing it for longer than a week.

Yeah, I think I gained like 15 lbs in a month w/that diet. It was damn hard though. I almost puked a bunch of times.

And I definitely feel you on the peanutbutter, bro! I can't get enough of that stuff. :D

And damn, 257 is huge. How much have you gained on this cycle now?

my old wrestling coach who juiced said that when he wanted to put on mass he would pick a restaurant (like mcdonalds or something like that) and every time he passed it he would get two big macs or a value meal, every time he passed it. He said it did two good things, made him hate fast food enough that he wouldnt go near the place when he was cutting, and it was an effective way to put on mass.

I guess like 15 or close to it, bro, seems like so long ago. I have a ways to go yet though. The slin and now doggcrapp training I feel are going to keep the gains coming. I was stuck at around 250 unitl I started the slin and now DC training is kicking my butt. I'm gonna kick swolegenix into high gear now and focus on clean gains only but my goal is still 270 lean. At that weight with endurance still intact I'll be happy.

Where are you at now brother?

juicedmullet, how're you making out my man? Email me sometime brother. I just can't get into that fast food thing man. To me the simpler the better: whole milk, eggs, peanut butter, whey protein, etc., is the way to go for me. Diet, training and even gear, I'm finding the most effective means are the most simple, basic ones.

yeah i agree about that. I think it would be better to build solid eating habits when just getting into bodybuilding. It's sure a whole lot cheaper to eat the non fast food way. I just like saying that 2 double cheesburgers thrice daily is my ''diet''. I know its not the healthiest thing in the world for you, and ive only done that ''diet'' once, the last time i bulked. i gained a lot of mass, but felt like crap the whole time.

There isn't a person alive who won't gain weight if he eats enough.

Your "friend" ate a lot for a week and didn't gain weight? Oh man, your "friend" has a ot to learn.

Call me old school but I remember the days where if a kid like that tried to score some gear from the guys who were dealing at the gym they'd tell him to get lost and learn how to lift and eat first. But times have changed I guess.

nelson...

youre friggin old school. thats all there is to it.

At my younger sister's graduation there were high school seniors talking about juicing for football season next year.

The best cycle I can think of is food!!

At 6 foot, 145, he has lots that can be done natural.

Exactly.

Your friend should be able to gain at least 35lbs naturally.

I was 141 lbs to start. I got up to 201lbs -- a 60lb gain. Mostly muscle. I ate frequently, drank a lot of water, and followed Mike Mentzer's training style -- short workouts with a few high intensity sets.

201 was a good weight for me. another 20lbs wouldn't have hurt though!

I don't suggest beef or saturated fat/ hard to digest food. I know a lot of people attest to beef, but there's nothing magical about it. I like food that is easier to digest. Eggs are very easy to digest.

Your friend is lean. He should stay that way.

As mentioned, a continuous stream of protein is essential to packing on lean mass. Eggs in the ration of 4whites to 1 yolk is ideal.

8 whites and 2 yolks twice a day (Extra large). Make it tasty by sauteeing garlic and ginger. Add paprika, basil, and oregano. Add a tomato.

Shakes are great, I think. I make my own. 4 cups milk, 3cups soymilk, 2-3 bananas, strawberries if I have them, 2tbsp flax oil, nutritional yeast, creatine. Choc syrup if I feel like it.

Taking the shake after the workout is best because it will put the body into an anabolic state.

I also eat a lot of fruit. I just love it and I always eat more when I enjoy what I eat. Mangoes, oranges, bananas. Your friend should find food that he likes to eat. McDonalds tastes like shit, IMO. Actually, I don't even like to walk past McD cause it stinks :flylicker

Your friend definitely has to eat a lot more.

He should eat 5-7 times per day.

I totally agree with Nelson on this one. If your friend relies on AAS, what will he do off-cycle? If he stays on indefinitely, he will surely have dire problems.
