i love doing partial deads, it seems like its a totally different excersise from the the deadlift. it seems to hit the upper back and traps big time, it feels it really strectes them out. is this what u guys feel when you do partials. it kinda feels like when u do shrugs but your not shruging the weight feels like its pullin the shit out of your upper back but it feels great. its hard to really isolate just your back when doing rows sometimes it seems my arms take over. so where do you guys feel the partials at? how much weight do you use and how far off the ground are the plates?

I set the bar to just below my sticking point which means about 3 inches below knee height. I think if you are setting yourself up correctly you should feel this in the same places as the deadlift. Are you using more weight than you deadlift?? Mebbe that is why it feels different?? It also sounds like you are letting the bar pull your shoulders forward.....I try to avoid that when I deadlift. Just my 2c.

i use alot more weight on this around 500 plus usually and i dead about 435 or more. but i like the feel of it though its hard to work that upper middle back for me. thanks for you input
