In the 2nd round kimbo was on his back for 1.5 minutes getting beaten with no intelligent defense, then in round 3 the ref calls it..

Well first off, with those weak ass punches that Lurch was throwing, no defense was necessary. However a welterweight UFC fighter would have pulverized that face beyond recognition.

I disagree with those who say the fight was stopped too early; the guy was out on his feet...glazed over and wild looking eyes, carrying his hands down by his pec line....he was going to get hurt. If MMA is going to gain mainstream respect, they need to have stoppages in those situations; while hardcore fans might want to see that one extra punch that puts the guy out cold, it does MMA no favors with regulating bodies and potential new fans who haven't watched MMA before.
