Well time for a dad "me" to brag on his 7 year old daughter. She has been lifting since she was a little over 3 years old. Her flat bench press is 80 lbs. max. and dead lifts 115lbs. Her weight is 52 lbs. I have never forced her to lift she has just grew up with iron brotha's coming in and out of the house since she was born. Lifting to her is as common as other kids play computer games.
If you ask her what she is going to be when she grows up she says when I am 12 I am going to be on the USA powerlifting team.

I am very proud of her.

About a year ago I posted something about a guy at my gym that throws the 200lb dumbs up like nothin and got flamed for it. Well, thats him in the pic, Brandenburg.

I pray for this boy. He shouldn't ever have to worry about getting old. His parents should be shot for child abuse and someday murder.

You saved my time. I was going to say exactly the same.

the boy weighs around 270 - 280lbs, a internet buddy over at BB.com follows him like crazy. the thing if thats the way this kid is going just think he could even eventually bet anthony clark's records when he comes of age??????????

It all depends on what they're exposed too....I take my son to the gym all the time (it's in my building) b/c it's a convenient way to spend 1-on-1 time together.

He's 3, so of course he just sits there with books and snacks and climbs around on the mats, but he's already interesting in exercise b/c he sees me doind it. I disagree with the parents of those kids though - I still think the best exercise for kid is running around with a ball....I suppose it he wants to lift a few dumbells for fun he can do that when he's a little older.

I meant I disagree with the parents of the powerlifting pre-teens (not the guy whose daughter exercises)....something about that seems creepy...like those little girls pushed to be celebrities.

OK, one in a 10,000 might turn out to be Britney Spears but I htink it just makes the other 9,999 pretty unhappy and unfulfilled.
