Because people in love tend to only believe what they want to believe.

Even after my ex lied about cheating, I forgave and stayed with her only to be screwed over again in the future.

I'm not trying to relate that situation to Poyeboy's, but it could be a factor.

I partially agree with you guys, yes kissing was wrong, but not means for breaking up a supposedly wonderful relationship. HOWEVER, ONLY IF IT NEVER WENT BEYOND ONE SIMPLE KISS (which I have a hard time buying due to observing other's relationships and my own)
