Help me come out of a fast

Claddah

New member
If you don't want my life story go directly to the bold, I'm coming out of a fast into intermittent fasting and want recipes.

I thought I was gonna fast for 10+days but after 4 the results are astonishing, so maybe another day or two. Although I didn't have much to lose to begin with, I do not want to put it back on again, so I am thinking of coming out of this fast with intermittent fasting.

I am currently un-employed its why I finally took the opportunity to fast, and man it was easy when you don't work lol. I will find myself a job in about a month after I have a new routine down.

I am not new to the gym but my routine while effective has gotten stale. It's also why I didn't have much to lose, kept my furnace big. I won't be looking to bulk for about a month or so and will make a post in the other forums about a new workout routine so check that one out.

I am basically looking for your favorite recipes for keeping slim as I have NEVER done this before. I usually cooked tasty hearty meals and ate to my hearts content(big furnace), and I know if I do that I'll just put it all back on again.

So please post links or copy and paste your fav recipes for slimming down..... Because I do NOT WANT TO THINK when given a list of random foods people like, especially with all the variants. I want to make RECIPES because that take the brain work out of it, and then I will tailor what i like to my needs. Or what I should avoid, like sugary sauces.

I started at, 6ft 215 pounds looking to get down to 190ish, I don't know where I am now but will use intermittent fasting to lose the rest as it will be more of a lifestyle change to keep it off. Final goal is to get back up to 205 with leaner muscle.

If your wondering why I didn't post before I began is because apparently it works against your psychology to post/talk about something before actually undertaking the task, and yes I have read your man Stevesmi stickied post, and will keep those points in mind even if they are for bulking.

@Claddah Welcome to the EF family :) we dont want to post links but lets talk about you more.

Have you ever fasted before? what are your stats now?

after 2-3 days of fasting your digestion shuts down which is good. this allows your gut to repair cells.

so when you break your fast its smart to stick to single ingredient and easy to digest foods. something like melon or PLAIN bone broth (it shouln't have any sort of garlic, onion, spices etc) are popular ways to break a fast.

also never go into a situation where you plan a long fast. take it day by day. as long as you aren't experiencing vomitting or diarhea you can keep going. but if something does happen its good to break the fast

I know Stevesmi has done 10+ days but I never would

I'd also advise you to get a job now. The idea of one being available at a date to suit is not how life works

fasting is very effective but you should definitely do cardio fasted
when you do fasted cardio it doubles the amount of fat burn you get

an air fryer is an amazing tool
you can make cut up sweet potato or potato fries and you can make some really good chicken

my advice is to Quality Foods
a lot of people can benefit simply by avoiding restaurant and fast food

Ok so I broke my fast with chicken (spices) and brown rice, It had a pinch of honey and some soy suace.
I've started making my own granola using grated apple instead of sugar.

I sctually started at about 99kg went down to 93kg and am now sitting at 96kg. My waist still looks like it was at 93kg..... I have no clue where that 3kg has gone. Also my diet is wayyyy better. No more white rice or huge servings of pasta, and If I cave to a chocolate bar it's right before the gym.

I see alot of recommendations for Bone broth, you guys just add it to what ever soup? I usually have about 7ish grams of collogen with my protein shake. Lastly man at the store says 2 protein shakes a day is ok, I was only doing one, what are your thoughts on two?

@Claddah great to see you coming out of the fasting :D

you should add the bone broth to soup its a must

but I see you discussing training in another thread

what we would like from you is for you to share with the EF family a LOG
a fasting and training log for your lifestyle
can you please do that?
if you want us to guide you, we need you to start a LOG please

To really guide you we need more info, we need you to share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
We have 100s of years of experience between us, you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.

Please post a Log Journal asap for us

Please click the anabolic forum
top RIGHT, you see: +POST THREAD
click that

in Title: write your cycle name, like> My _____ Cycle Log
___ = the name of your log
example: My Lifestyle Fasting Training Log
in body: write your planned cycle or cycle you doing now, your diet, training and we will help you along on your cycle

here are examples of LOG Journals

don't eat spices when breaking a fast.

the best things to break a fast are going to be watery fruits and plain bone broth

i make my own bone broth. i get my own bones and put them in PLAIN broth or water for 30 hours in a crockpot. also a good tip is heating up the bones before in the oven and boil the liquid before adding to crockpot. you don't want the bones to sit cold in the liquids

glad to see you back posting
can you get your log going and make it official?

really protein shakes should be a last resort type of thing
should be getting the bulk of your stuff and nutrition from real food

This is great advice. You don't add bone broth to a soup, bone broth "is" the soup.
