very impressive, im 17, 6'5" 220 and i can only do 5 pounds over my bodyweight once. but i havent tried a 1rm in over a month, and ive trained damn hard since i did my last 1rm.

ur young bro, don't sweat it, youll be throwing that weight up for warmups soon. I remember my goal was to do 225 for 1. haha seems like a long time ago. now I warmup with 225 for 15 reps.

thanks bro, if u hit the flat bench/incline bench once a week u'll see ur bench go up real quick. i started lifting at 15 and just stuck with it, i'll be 18 in a few months.
stick with the program and diet and u'll be throwing up the same weight man

You guys will learn that unless your a powerlifter 1RM are for ego boosters. No real body builder does 1RM on a regular basis. Its just cool to know you can press the weight. Like I said I can max out at around 315 at my best more like an even 300 but it was at least 3 months ago when I maxed out. Since then I shoot for 6-10 reps of 250lbs.

I can't believe anybody is arguing that height doesn't matter, have you ever taken an exercise physiology or anatomy and physiology class? Of course being shorter gives you an edge in terms of mechanical advantage. No, naming one guy who is tall and still crazy strong doesn't change reality. If he had his same relative muscular strength and was 5'8 he would be an absolute freak. Why do you think powerlifters are generally all short? I am 6'2 and I can bench a little over 300 at a bodyweight of 205, which is by no means great. At the same time I don't know many guys who are 6'2 and around my same weight and age (22), who are natura,l and bench much more than I do. But I could name many short guys who are about my age who weigh less and can bench more.

Body makeup does have some advantages, but the mind can overcome anything, I was talking about people who actually train hard and consistant. I know the world's greatest bencher does not have short arms-he's built to deadlift imo and another person who is around 6'8" who has benched 600lbs.
