6 foot 210lbs
i bench 320 3sets 7 reps

5'8 194lbs with clothes on, empty stomache. 275x17, 380x1 Ill be testing 315 for reps next week. I estimate between 8-10 reps with 315.

6'2", bench 225x3 (trying 230 today), weigh in at 195lbs.

My hypothesis:

The reason it is easier for shorter people to lift heavier weights is the required torque of the movement.

Torque = force applied x distance from fulcrum.

If you've taken a physics class, this should make sense to you :) Think about it like this. Your humerus is the lever. When laying on your back, you raise and lower your humerus (upper arm) by contracting and relaxing your pectoral muscles (assuming little or no help from ant. delts). The fulcrum of this simple system is your shoulder (where the humerus meets the clavicle). When your pectoral muscles contract, they are applying torque to the system and the lever (arm) rises. Now, the torque required to raise the arm is calculated from the above equation. So...

Someone trying to lift 1000N (225 lbs) with a 1m long humerus (I know... very long) will require

1000 N x 1m = 1000Nm of torque to lift

Someone trying to lift that same weight, 1000N (225 lbs) with a .5m long humerus will require

1000 N x .5m = 500Nm of torque to lift

That is, they would need only 1/2 the strength, since only 1/2 the torque is required.

Again, this is merely my guess. Maybe I'm biased because i'm 6'2" and so very weak :D

18 years old. 5'10'' my best was 245X1.
I have a lifting partner that is 5'8'' at best and he pressed 285. He'g going for 300 by Mid Feb.

dude i can get 275x14 adn 315x11, so im guessing u can get 315 for 12+

6'2" 220 - no juice. I haven't maxed in years - last time I did it was 315, but I can do 275x8 so I think I'm still pretty safely in the 300-350 range.

Hey brother!! That was a little while ago. Ive since hit 315x10 and 395x1. I will be going for 12 tommorrow with 315, as well as some PR's with 335 and 365 if all goes as planned. Will probabally even throw in a one rep attempt just to see what I can hit. Im weighing in at around 200-203 now, Im guessing. ThanX for the encouragement!! Keep KILLING that shit!!

I cant wait to see what I bench in about 8 weeks If ya smell what Im cookin?????

5'10" 195/12%bf 285x5 raw and natural for now.I have been gathering great info of this board for about three weeks now lookin at poppin my cherry soon.

my thoughts to the vast differences in size and amount of weight all the above are lifting is gear or no gear genetics is the reason. My chest shoulders and arms are all good.my legs on the other hand are embarising in comparison.i piss pound them 2x a week theydontget bigger and the srenght gains almost non existent. On the other hand my calves are good.U should see this very unbalanced look.but i'll keep on keepin on.
