Notes from my experiences:

- as you mentioned, don't ever listen to the hyperbole they post up ("I just want a man to connect with"). While they may want that at some point, they are there for The Cock. And that's what they'll receive, won't they?

- you can meet plenty of chicks by being the nice cheesy unoriginal dude who tells them how pretty/hot/sexy/OMG they are, but that will typically only pull in the 6's. Same as real life - make em realize that they should be privileged to take your load on their chins.

- pictures, omfg, pictures. 99% of the pics are complete falsified mirages. good angles, the right lighting, a vat of make up. no good. there's no real solution here other than to just get access to their photo book, mine through all their pics and average em out to come to a logical conclusion


Other than that, it's almost too easy. Have fun. Try and meet them in a public place so that you can do a quick drive/walk-by to check em out. If she's busted, keep on rollin and change your screen name when you get home.

My best gf and I used to do "pre-dates". You get together with a dude for a cup of coffee - public place, one cup of coffee no more than an hour - very little time or money investment and you get a much better sense about whether or not you want to subject yourself to several hours sometime later in the week.

I'm sorry but I don't agree. Some people have really just met assholes and wanna meet the right person. There are good looking girls on this site, and many of them chat with me. There are TONS of fugly's, but you're wrong to think so negative about net dating. I think calveless would agree.

And so would I and my husband. We met online.

We dated GOBS until we met one another and were married on our third date. Mind you, our experience is rare, as are we. But the internet is AWESOME and an invaluable tool for many busy adults who wouldn't otherwise be able to meet one another.

My husband and I have both dated locally, all over the US and around the world for that matter... all thanks to the internet. To discount e-dating is like saying that the internet is "just a fad."

Happened to me a would say a handfull of times where the pic was like 10 years, half a head of hair and like 40 pounds ago or the one notsobad pic the guy ever took in his life EVER... One guy went to the trouble to fly me to Boston from NJ. Did he think that I wouldn't notice? Sad part of that story was that I genuinely enjoyed his company but was totally put off the whole time because he lied THAT BADLY. Thank goodness he got the vibe and shipped my ass back home within 12 hours.

7 days, 7 dates, 7 different men... I think my record was 9 dates in 7 days. They were all nice men, just not for me.

As I said, when I was at work, I wasn't scanning the gym for a dude nor did I date my co-workers and when I wasn't at work, I was with my kids. Lotta single dads, that doesn't make them damaged goods... matter of fact if a woman's preference is to date older men MOST have children AND ex's... so?

And my husband... Sheesh that man is like freaking Mr Mayor. We can't go ANYWHERE without him engaging EVERYONE. He's charming, charismatic and successfull, had no shortage of hotties at his beckon call...
